Tether Limited argues that using this method to buy virtual currencies allows users to move fiat in and out of an exchange more quickly and cheaply. Tether has no transaction fees, although external wallets and exchanges may charge one. In order to convert USDT to USD and vise versa through the Tether.to Platform, users must pay a small fee. Buying and selling Tether for Bitcoin can be done through a variety of exchanges like the ones mentioned previously or through the Tether.to platform, which also allows the conversion between USD to and from your bank account.

Silver gave up its record rally at the end of the last month.&nbsp;The XAG/USD pair was up 6.8% to $83.32 an ounce at the time of writing. Silver futures for March 2026 deliveries jumped 8% to $83.02 an ounce.Meanwhile, gold also rallied as the bullion climbed to go above $5,000 per ounce in the session. Spot Silver Rallies More Than 6% Ahead Of January Jobs Report

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Explaining the plunge in Bitcoin over the previous week, the economist stated that people bought into the cryptocurrency’s adoption, which attracted a lot of speculators to the cryptocurrency.</li><li>Bitcoin prices have declined by over 4% over the previous five trading sessions, with the cryptocurrency hovering at $70,085 at the time of writing.</li><li>Analysts at Schwab Center for Financial Research stated that the decline in AI stocks, as well as software companies, last week was a result of profit-taking to some extent.</li></ul>Mohamed El-Erian, Chief Economic Advisor at Allianz, explained the volatility in the equities, commodities, and cryptocurrency markets last week, reportedly stating that it was “mainly technical.”“It was mainly technical. It was a deleveraging that started in the most speculative parts of the market.. silver, bitcoin, etcetera, and started contaminating others,” he said during an interview with CNBC.The economist added that the “buy on dips” sentiment led to a rebound in equities toward the end of the week – the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the S&amp;P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite indexes ended Friday with gains of between 2% and 2.5%.“The week before was policy news. This week is going to be all about data. It’s a fascinating time to be observing and participating in these markets,” he added.<h2 class="st-heading-2">El-Erian Explains Bitcoin’s Decline</h2>Explaining the plunge in Bitcoin over the previous week, the economist stated that people bought into the cryptocurrency’s adoption, which attracted a lot of speculators to the cryptocurrency. “Then you got a shakeout,” he said in the interview.Bitcoin prices have declined by over 4% over the previous five trading sessions, with the cryptocurrency hovering at $70,085 at the time of writing.“The fundamental theme for Bitcoin is continued institutional adoption, and it’s going to be volatile until that resident base of investors, not tourist investors, becomes big enough to absorb,” he added.Bitcoin prices fell to $67,000 last week, and the cryptocurrency is currently trading lower by nearly 21% year-to-date.El-Erian noted that this effect was visible in silver as well as, to a certain extent, gold, too.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Analysts Point To Profit Taking</h2>Analysts at Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR) stated that the decline in AI and software stocks last week was partly due to profit-taking, following rallies in companies like Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) and Micron Technology Inc. (MU).AMD stock is up nearly 7% over the past month, while MU stock is up more than 12%.“Segment leaders like Nvidia and Broadcom keep struggling to find new buyers as investors worry about the AI story possibly growing weaker over time,” the firm stated in its latest note.SCFR added that the data this week could go a long way toward “sorting things out” in terms of the economy.Meanwhile, U.S. equities gained in Monday morning’s trade. The&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DIA">SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust</a> (DIA), which tracks the Dow Jones Industrial Average, declined 0.55%.“The recent heavy selling in both AI and software has made the entire tech sector more volatile, with many market participants appearing to sell at the first sign of danger,” said analysts at Schwab Center for Financial Research in their latest note.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Alphabet Projects Increase In AI Spending</h2>After announcing in October 2025 that it expects a “significant increase” in capital expenditure in 2026, Alphabet stated on Wednesday that it expects capex to reach $175 billion to $185 billion this year. I’d say the most important thing is [to] have a well-diversified portfolio,” Dalio added, according to the report.The investor said that central banks, sovereign wealth funds, and governments should keep a “certain percentage” of their investments parked in gold to diversify their risks.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Weaponization Of Money</h2>Dalio also warned that the world is on the brink of a capital war, in which money is weaponized through measures such as trade embargoes and restrictions on access to capital markets. Among Dalio’s concerns is the Trump administration’s recent push to bring Greenland, a Danish territory, under U.S. control for its “national security” needs.“We are on the brink. That means not in, but it means we are quite close to [capital war], and it would be very easy to go over the brink into a capital war, because there are mutual fears,” he said, according to the report.He added that capital controls are taking place all over the world right now, which is historically a trait he has observed in capital wars.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Mistake People Make With Gold</h2>Dalio also pointed to concerns among people about gold’s trajectory amid near- to mid-term price movements in the yellow metal.“Gold is up about 65% from a year ago, and down about 16% from its high, and I think people make the mistake of thinking, is it going to go up and down, and should I buy it?” he said, according to the report.While silver prices soared nearly 67% since the beginning of 2026, a recent sell-off has brought those gains to nearly 21% year to date. Gold prices rose nearly 29% during this period, before giving up some of the gains to hover 14% higher YTD.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Where Are Gold And Silver Headed To?</h2>After recent volatility in gold and silver prices, analysts at ING Think noted that the price trajectory of the two metals will depend on how Chinese investors respond to last week’s decline.“Price direction in the near term will hinge on the extent of dip‑buying from Chinese investors following Friday’s retreat. With volatility spiking and the Lunar New Year approaching, traders are likely to pare back positions and reduce risk,” the firm stated in a recent note.Meanwhile, the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/GLD">SPDR Gold Shares ETF</a> (GLD) was up 5.52% at the time of writing, while the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/IAU">iShares Gold Trust ETF</a> (IAU) rose 5.46%. Ray Dalio Reportedly Backs Gold As A Hedge Against Capital Wars: 'When The Bad Times Come Along, It Does Uniquely Well'

Silver futures for March 2026 deliveries fell 14.3% to $97.96 an ounce.Meanwhile, gold’s rally was also cut short as the bullion fell below $5,000 per ounce earlier in the session. Spot gold (XAU/USD) was down nearly 7% at the time of writing, while futures for February 2026 deliveries sank 5.5% to $5,030.6 an ounce.The U.S. dollar strengthened after reports that the Trump administration is preparing to nominate Kevin Warsh as the next Federal Reserve chair. The U.S. Dollar index (DXY), which measures the greenback against six major currencies, rose 0.5% to 96.6.Warsh, a former Fed governor known for his hawkish stance on inflation, has recently argued for lower interest rates. Trump is expected to formally announce his choice soon, with Warsh seen as a leading contender to succeed Jerome Powell, whose tenure as the chairman ends in May.<h2 class="st-heading-2">ETFs Crash</h2>The <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SLV">iShares Silver Trust</a> (SLV) declined to about $91, erasing much of its year-to-date rally. Citi believes silver will continue to outperform gold until it appears expensive by historical standards.Despite traditionally bearish signals such as ETF outflows and reduced speculative positioning in futures markets, prices have continued to climb. Layton said the move is being fueled more by capital flows than traditional fundamentals, supported by geopolitical risks and renewed concerns over Federal Reserve independence.Citi now sees an additional 30% to 40% upside in the near term.
