Introduced as a "joke currency" on 6 December 2013, Dogecoin quickly developed its own online community and reached a capitalization of US$60 million in January 2014. Compared with other cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin had a fast initial coin production schedule: 100 billion coins were in circulation by mid-2015, with an additional 5.256 billion coins every year thereafter. As of 30 June 2015, the 100 billionth Dogecoin had been mined.   Dogecoin was created by Billy Markus from Portland, Oregon and  Jackson Palmer from Sydney, Australia. Both wanted to create a fun cryptocurrency that will appeal beyond the core Bitcoin audience. Dogecoin is primarily used as a tipping system on Reddit and Twitter where users tip each other for creating or sharing good content. The community is very active in organising fundraising activities for deserving causes.  The developers of Dogecoin haven’t made any major changes to the coin since 2015. This means that Dogecoin could get left behind and is why Shibas are leaving Dogecoin to join more advanced platforms like Ethereum. One of Dogecoin strengths is its relaxed and fun-loving community. Spire Global (SPIR) stock jumped 26.6% in extended trading on Tuesday after the company agreed to settle court proceedings against Kpler regarding the sale of the former’s maritime business.The space-to-cloud data analytics firm had agreed to sell its maritime business in November, and the deal was expected to close in the first quarter.However, Spire revealed in a <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/spire-global-stock-loses-half-of-market-cap/ch5aqfdRu0">regulatory filing</a> in February that all closing conditions in the purchase agreement had been or could be satisfied. However, Kpler did not close the deal.Spire had also revealed in the filing that the price at the transaction's closing was a cash payment based upon an enterprise value of $233.5 million, subject to customary adjustments. Spire Global (SPIR) stock rose 9.6% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after launching two advanced AI weather models built on Nvidia’s technology.The company said the two models, AI-WX and AI-S2S, would be developed on the NVIDIA Omniverse Blueprint for Earth-2 and deliver medium-range and sub-seasonal forecasts.The Earth-2 platform features a range of AI-based weather models and tools for visualizing and simulating the planet.The company said these models would integrate Spire’s extensive satellite network data, including atmospheric profiles, soil moisture readings, and ocean surface winds. Data and analytics firm Spire Global Inc (SPIR) shares slid 13% on Thursday after the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20250313356433/en/Spire-Global-Announces-40.0-Million-Private-Placement">announced</a> plans to raise $40 million through a private placement deal.The company will sell five million shares of its Class A common stock at a purchase price of $8 per share and $7.9999 per pre-funded warrant. One pre-funded warrant will have an exercise price of $0.0001 per share of common stock. Spire Global Stock Tumbles 13% On $40M Private Placement Deal: Retail Mood Brightens But Still In Bearish Territory

Spire Global Inc (SPIR) shares lost more than half of their market capitalization on Wednesday after the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://ir.spire.com/sec-filings/all-sec-filings/content/0000950170-25-017880/0000950170-25-017880.pdf">flagged</a> concerns regarding the consummation of its maritime business sale to Kpler Holding SA. Wednesday’s decline is the stock’s worst single-day performance ever.Spire Global explained in an SEC filing that the purchase price to be paid by the buyer at the closing of the transactions is a cash payment based upon an enterprise value of $233.5 million, subject to customary adjustments. The offer also includes a 12-month transition service and data provision agreement for $7.5 million.Spire Global expected the transaction to close in the first quarter of 2025.The company said it believes all conditions for closing contained in the Purchase Agreement have been satisfied or could be satisfied. However, despite the company’s notice to the buyer, it has failed to consummate the closing.On Feb. 10, 2025, Spire Global filed a complaint in the Delaware Court of Chancery against the buyer seeking a grant of specific performance ordering it to satisfy its obligations under the purchase agreement and consummate the closing.However, Spire Global said there is no assurance as to what action the Delaware Court of Chancery will take and whether or not the transactions will be consummated.Spire Global also said it is currently in the process of restating its financial statements for the appropriate periods but does not expect to meet the Feb. 19, 2025 deadline imposed by the NYSE.
