Zcash is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency that uses trustless zero-knowledge proofs to enable fully encrypted transactions while maintaining blockchain transparency and security. It was the first cryptocurrency to implement zero-knowledge encryption for private peer-to-peer payments, addressing the fundamental privacy gap in traditional cryptocurrencies that expose transaction details publicly.   With a fixed supply of 21 million ZEC and a halving schedule similar to Bitcoin, Zcash allows users to prove transactions are valid without revealing sensitive information like wallet balances, transaction amounts, or participant identities, making it suitable for everyday payments, long-term savings, and cross-border money transfers where financial confidentiality matters.  The protocol operates on its own blockchain currently using Proof-of-Work consensus, though it's evolving toward Proof-of-Stake through the planned "Crosslink" upgrade to enhance security, scalability, and energy efficiency. Zcash employs trustless zero-knowledge proofs (Halo) within its Orchard shielded pool to verify transactions without revealing sender, receiver, or amount information.   Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Meanwhile,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X">Bitcoin</a> gained 0.6% in the last 24 hours, trading at $108,946.70.The funding round attracted over 40 institutional participants and included both debt and equity components.The Offering involved the issuance of 139.4 million American Depositary Shares (ADSs), each representing 10 ordinary shares or equivalent pre-funded warrants, along with warrants to purchase an additional 20.9 million ADSs.&nbsp;Each unit of an ADS and a warrant sold for $1.40, contributing $195 million to the raise.Sequans also issued $189 million in secured convertible debentures maturing in July 2028, with an original issue discount of 4%. These are convertible into ordinary shares at a rate of $2.10 per ADS.&nbsp;This portion of the Offering included warrants for another 20.2 million ADSs. Shares of French semiconductor company Sequans Communications S.A.(SQNS) surged over 19%&nbsp;in Monday’s pre-market after the company unveiled a&nbsp;Bitcoin (BTC)-focused treasury strategy, complementing its role in the cellular IoT semiconductor market.&nbsp;Sequans disclosed that it has secured commitments to raise approximately $384 million through a dual-tranche private placement of equity and convertible debt instruments.&nbsp;The firm plans to allocate a substantial amount of capital to Bitcoin, framing it as a long-term strategic asset.The initiative will be supported through a partnership with Swan Bitcoin, a U.S.-based&nbsp;Bitcoin&nbsp;infrastructure and advisory firm.Sequans plans to raise capital through a combination of approximately $195 million from the issuance of ordinary shares and warrants, along with $189 million in secured convertible notes.&nbsp;Leading the private placement effort are Northland Capital Markets and B. Riley Securities, serving as co-lead placement agents, with Yorkville Securities contributing as an additional agent.&nbsp;The offering is slated to close by July 1, pending shareholder approval during meetings scheduled for June 30.&nbsp;Completion of the debt component depends on the closure of the equity portion, which must reach at least $195 million in gross proceeds.
