What that move means for you is simple. Buyers defended the 399 area and pushed the price back above 400, so the name is holding higher ground with room toward the old highs if that hold lasts. UnitedHealth reported on October 13 with profit of 4.69 dollars a share when folks expected 4.14 dollars, and the company raised its view for the full year, which means the people inside the building see steadier days ahead than the crowd feared. Price ran up 5.8 percent in five sessions, then rested on Friday from a 412.37 dollar high to a 401.43 dollar close while buyers held the 395.52 dollar low, and that quiet hold is what gives you a close line to lean on with room back toward 414.42 dollars first. P.S. Watch 414.42 dollars this week. A close over that level would show buyers are pushing past the last ceiling, not just defending the floor.

$UNH When the Democrats win midterms, I think healthcare could get interesting. After 2008, healthcare stocks benefited from the ACA expansion and a growing insured population. This time, Democrats want to restore ACA subsidies, reverse Medicaid cuts, and increase scrutiny of Medicare Advantage and insurer practices. My bull case: more coverage, a larger addressable market, and a lot of regulatory fear already priced in. Bear case: lower reimbursement, tighter margins, and tougher rules on prior authorizations and Medicare Advantage. I struggle to see a complete overhaul passing easily, especially without unified control of Congress. Am I missing something? How do you see the different scenarios playing out for UNH?
