(BBIO) on Monday announced that limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2I/R9 patients treated with BBP-418 in a late-stage study demonstrated improvements in motor and pulmonary function at 12 months.Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2I/R9 (LGMD2I/R9) is a rare, inherited disorder leading to progressive weakness and wasting of the arm and leg muscles, commonly later accompanied by pulmonary muscle and cardiac muscle involvement. It is caused by mutations in the FKRP gene, impairing glycosylation of alpha-dystroglycan (αDG), a protein associated with stabilizing muscle cells.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Trial Observations</h2>BridgeBio<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/10/27/3174417/0/en/BridgeBio-Reports-Positive-Phase-3-Results-for-Small-Molecule-BBP-418-in-LGMD2I-R9-FORTIFY-Study.html"> said</a> that glycosylated αDG increased by 1.8x from baseline at 3 months, whereas the placebo group showed little change. BBIO Stock Soars After Experimental Drug Shows Improvement In Inherited Muscle Disorder In Late-stage Trial

BridgeBio (BBIO) now intends to file a new drug application for the therapy's approval in the first half of 2026.

Tvardi Therapeutics (TVRD) on Monday said that its TTI-101, being evaluated in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), showed no benefit over placebo in a mid-stage trial.The trial was designed to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, and exploratory outcomes related to lung function in patients with IPF. Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis is a progressive lung disease where lung tissue thickens and scars, making it difficult to breathe. However, the study did not meet its goals, and no statistically significant differences between placebo and treatment arms were observed after a preliminary review of exploratory efficacy, it said.Shares of the company plummeted 87% in Monday’s pre-market session. Lexeo Therapeutics (LXEO) announced on Tuesday that the company is considering a smaller pivotal study for LX2006 in the treatment of Friedreich's ataxia (FA) cardiomyopathy, scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026, pending finalization of the study protocol.The <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://ir.lexeotx.com/news-releases/news-release-details/lexeo-therapeutics-announces-progress-fda-discussions">data</a> from the planned pivotal study will be pooled with data from the ongoing Phase I/II studies of LX2006 to support an approval application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the therapy, the company stated after discussions with the agency.Lexeo will submit enhanced manufacturing comparability data and meet an additional nonclinical requirement before the initiation of the planned pivotal study to enable pooling, the company added.Lexeo is continuing to engage with the agency regarding the protocol of the pivotal study, it stated, adding that it believes this regulatory feedback has the potential to reduce the size and duration of the planned pivotal study. The company is also optimistic that the feedback may accelerate the overall timeline to an application submission.Updated interim clinical data from both ongoing Phase I/II studies of LX2006 show sustained or deepening improvements in the majority of participants across both cardiac and neurologic measures of Friedreich’s ataxia, the company said.FA cardiomyopathy is the leading cause of death in individuals with Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), a rare, inherited neurodegenerative disorder causing progressive damage to the nervous system, leading to impaired balance, muscle coordination, and sensory loss, often beginning in childhood. Lexeo Therapeutics Stock Rallies On Discussions With FDA To Expedite Friedreich’s Ataxia Drug Approval Process

Wainwright raised its price target on AnaptysBio (ANAB) to $59 from $38 on Tuesday, following the company's announcement of its plan to split its business into two.The analyst kept a ‘Buy’ rating on the shares. The new price target implies a potential upside of about 154% to the stock’s closing price on Monday.AnaptysBio <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://ir.anaptysbio.com/news-releases/news-release-details/anaptys-announces-intent-separate-biopharma-operations">stated </a>on Tuesday that its board of directors approved plans to explore separating its business into two independent, publicly traded companies. Upon completion of the split, the royalty management company will manage royalties and milestone payments from financial collaborations, including Jemperli with GSK and Imsidolimab with Vanda, with a focus on protecting and returning their value, the company said.The royalty management company is expected to require minimal infrastructure and staff, and will operate under a new name, it added.Meanwhile, the other company, referred to as Biopharma Co., will focus on biopharmaceutical operations, including the development and potential commercialization of innovative immunology therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as Rosnilimab, ANB033, and ANB101. After the split, Biopharma Co. will launch with adequate capital to fund operations for at least two years and will also operate under a new name, the company stated.The separation is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Anaptys CEO Daniel Faga is expected to continue as CEO of the biopharma company.Shares of the company traded 30% higher on Tuesday afternoon at the time of writing. AnaptysBio Stock Gets A Price Target Hike After Announcing Plan To Separate Royalty, Biopharma Businesses – Check Out The New Level

H.C. Wainwright’s new price target of $59 implies a potential upside of about 154% to the stock’s closing price on Monday. 

MBX Biosciences, Inc. (MBX) said on Monday that its once-weekly Canvuparatide achieved the primary endpoint with statistical significance at week 12 in its mid-stage trial in adult patients with chronic hypoparathyroidism.Hypoparathyroidism is a rare endocrine disease caused by a deficiency of parathyroid hormone (PTH) released by the parathyroid glands that results in decreased calcium levels in the blood. According to MBX, the disease affects more than 250,000 individuals in the U.S. and Europe.The company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investors.mbxbio.com/news-releases/news-release-details/mbx-biosciences-announces-once-weekly-canvuparatide-achieved">noted</a> that 63% of Canvuparatide-treated patients in the study maintained serum calcium levels within the normal range and were independent of conventional therapy, including active vitamin D and calcium supplements, at week 12, with zero contribution from rescue therapy, compared to 31% in placebo-treated patients, the company stated.In the open-label extension of the trial, 79% of patients who received treatment achieved these milestones at six months. The company is now preparing to kickstart a late-stage trial of once-weekly Canvuparatide in 2026.Shares of the company soared 144% in the pre-market session at the time of writing. Guggenheim also argued that the data provides "clear line of sight to blockbuster-plus potential."CEO Kent Hawryluk said that the company is pleased with the results. “We believe the totality of the data support a once-weekly product profile with continuous infusion-like PTH exposure. Krispy Kreme Stock Pops After FBI Director Kash Patel Reportedly Endorses It As A ‘Good Investment’: Retail Chatter Soars Over 600%

According to a Bloomberg News report, Patel noted during his testimony in Congress that he saw “good investment” opportunities in Krispy Kreme and ON Semiconductor Corp.

Wolfpack Research announced on Thursday its short position in EV maker Faraday Future (FFAI) and opined that it would likely revert to being a penny stock before eventually delisting.The firm <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.wolfpackresearch.com/items/ffai%3A-this-house-of-cards-is-falling-apart-as-yt-jia%E2%80%99s-latest-pump-is-built-on-fake-orders-and-a-tsunami-of-lies">stated</a> that it believes the latest pump in stock value was based on “fake orders, a rebadged Chinese minivan and a tsunami of lies” intended to induce retail investors to buy ahead of dilution.FFAI’s stock jumped on July 22 after Nature’s Miracle announced a preorder of 1000 EV minivans in a deal worth up to $100 million. However, Wolfpack thinks this is fake, provided that Nature’s Miracle does not have the cash to make such a purchase. Further, the founder of Nature’s Miracle and Faraday Future CEO Jia Yueting were classmates in business school, the firm noted.On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around <a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/FFAI">FFAI stock</a> remained within ‘bearish’ territory over the past 24 hours, while message volume stayed at ‘low’ levels.Wolfpack alleged, citing former employees and media reports, that the EV minivan called the FX Super One is a rebadged vehicle from Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors. The over 10,000 pre-orders for the vehicle are all non-binding, including the one made by Nature’s Miracle, it added.While the company recently announced $82 million of new financing, Faraday didn't reveal the financier, and Wolfpack believes this may be a reiteration of prior financing rounds where the CEO and other insiders appear to have used fronts to disguise that they were the ultimate source of funding. The firm also raised doubts about how the CEO has money to fund the company after emerging from his personal bankruptcy. “We think he hid assets from the bankruptcy court,” it said, while adding that this includes homes on the California coast and shares of Lucid.The ultimate goal of these moves by the company appears to be to pump up the stock ahead of massive dilution, Wolfpack alleged. FFAI is slated to vote on September 19 to increase the authorized common share count by 39% and issue shares to certain convertible note and warrant holders.YT Jia returned as co-CEO of the EV maker in April earlier this year after stepping down in 2019.
