In a major regulatory milestone in March 2026, a joint SEC and CFTC framework officially classified Dogecoin as a digital commodity, placing it in the same asset category as gold or oil.

According to Barclays, global cryptocurrency exchange volumes fell by nearly 48% from its October 2025 peak to $4.3 trillion in March 2026 — the lowest level since October 2024.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coinbase’s subscription and services revenue, a closely watched metric, totaled $583.5 million, below expectations of $619.3 million. Investors are keen to see growth in this segment as Coinbase tries to reduce reliance on revenue from trading activities.&nbsp;COIN posted a loss of $1.49 per share, compared with analyst expectations for a $0.27per share profit.
