iShares MSCI Spain ETF fell 5.6% by midday Tuesday after President Donald Trump announced he would cut all trade with Spain. 
The move followed Spain’s refusal to allow U.S. forces to use its military bases for operations related to the strike on Iran. At least 11 U.S. KC-135T and KC-135R refueling aircraft departed from the southern Spanish bases of Rota and Morón on Sunday night after Madrid opposed the operation. 
Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said Spanish military bases “will not be used for anything outside the agreement with the United States and the United Nations Charter,” calling the U.S.-Israeli actions “unilateral.” 
On Monday, the Spanish government confirmed it had denied U.S. forces involved in the Iran strike access to its bases, prompting key refueling aircraft to relocate to other countries.
