The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Solana has also seen significant institutional adoption ranging from spot Solana ETFs to major partnerships including Visa's 2025 launch of USDC settlement on the network and the tokenization of public equity by firms like Galaxy Digital.
