What is Amp? Amp is described as the new digital collateral token offering instant, verifiable assurances for any kind of value transfer. Using Amp, networks like Flexa can quickly and irreversibly secure transactions for a wide variety of asset-related use cases. How does Amp work? Amp claims to offer a straightforward but versatile interface for verifiable collateralization through a system of collateral partitions and collateral managers. Where collateral partitions can be designated to collateralize any account, application, or even transaction, and carry balances which are directly verifiable on the Ethereum blockchain, collateral managers are smart contracts that can lock, release, and redirect collateral in these partitions as needed in order to support value transfer activities. Amp supports a wide variety of use cases for collateralization, and also introduces the concept of predefined partition strategies, which can enable special capabilities such as collateral models through which tokens can be staked without ever leaving their original address.

AMP Token

AMPs sharp rally and elevated trading activity have sparked heavy speculation, but traders cite no confirmed new catalyst; some anticipate a breakout while others warn the move may fade as in past pump-and-dump swings. Bullish discussion also points to Flexas payment and collateral thesis and its connection to Anvil, though meaningful merchant adoption and AMP demand remain unproven.

People will look back on these data centers like we look back in giant vacuum tube computer rooms from the 50s. Ifykyk. Local open models are on pace to overtake closed models in the next 2 years. Companies are using ChatGPT and Claude to essentially send their source code to Altman et al.

I can run a model which is more than enough than I need at home. Do you know how expensive claude is when you are using 100s of agents?

@SwarmOfDogs they could care less what you do. Their customers are corporations. If you don’t understand that there’s no help. Before you say corporations will build their own models…think. Logistics, timing, security, costs… there you go little one.

@SwarmOfDogs I’m surprised how often it’s just flat out wrong. Kinda reminds me of how we used to learn math versus how they learn now. Can’t even count change for a dollar now.

@Optionsking11 This is how I can tell you don't work in the industry. Do you think that corporations don't use open source software? Have you ever used Linux? Yes, for an individuals use, I can run a cutting edge model for ~10-15k. So if a corporation wants to, it just scales. I don't have to (rightfully) worry about my proprietary source code being given to people like Sam Altman and friends.

@SwarmOfDogs Honestly thats not all true, Most companies won't spend capex and opex to run local infrastructure unless on a very specific use case. Most still would use subscription/usage base models, albeit it will likely not be claude or chatgpt.

@Holdmahbawls Then perhaps things won't shift until they realize their shit has been yoinked. For most corporations, anyone not doing coding has no need for the amount compute they are building.
