Delhi govt allows NOC registration for end-of-life vehicles

The Delhi government on Thursday, October 30, allowed the end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) to register for a no-objection certificate (NOC) by removing the one-limit for such applications.

The decision will provide relief to lakhs of over-aged vehicles in the national capital as they will be able to re-register their vehicles in other states, news agency PTI reported citing an official statement.

"This move will primarily benefit owners of diesel vehicles aged over 10 years and petrol vehicles over 15 years old, allowing them to obtain an NOC to re-register their vehicles in other states outside the Delhi-NCR region, irrespective of how long ago their vehicle's registration expired," the statement read.

Indian aviation's cost of capital — why it is a bigger challenge that needs to be addressed urgently

The Indian aviation sector has grown by leaps and bounds. However, this has happened as it continues to grapple with a formidable challenge: the cost of capital. While passenger numbers soar and new aircraft orders dominate headlines, looking at the industry as a whole, the underlying financial health remains precarious.

The fundamental economics of the airline business in India are under
relentless pressure, and a significant part of this stems from the prohibitive cost of financing operations and expansion. Both debt and equity have significant hurdle rates. And this is only compounded by additional challenges like currency fluctuations to fuel taxation, airport charges and a duopolistic market — creating an environment where profitability prospects are hard to come by.

Connected but constrained: Rethinking women’s digital autonomy in rural India

By bridging gaps in access, literacy, and confidence, digital empowerment of rural women becomes more than a matter of equity; it becomes a catalyst for systemic economic growth. Yet the economic case is only part of the story. At its heart, digital autonomy is about dignity, the quiet power to explore, decide, and dream on one’s own terms.

When every rural woman can log in independently, the digital revolution will do more than connect devices; it will connect destinies. The future of India’s digital economy will then be shaped not by data speeds, but by the freedom of women who finally hold the screen and their stories in their own hands.

India’s urban future needs to be more inclusive, going beyond metros. By strategically empowering small and medium towns through the broad 3C Framework: Contributors, Collaborators, and Champions-the country can relieve megacity pressures, unlock new engines of growth, and ensure that urbanisation becomes a story of inclusion, not imbalance. This shift is not just desirable but essential if India.
