Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) unveiled a refreshed lineup of Ring security cameras on Tuesday, featuring 4K high-resolution video recording support for the first time in the brand’s portfolio.
The new Ring security cameras also come equipped with an artificial intelligence-powered pet-finding feature, turning them into community tools for pet owners.
Amazon’s shares were down more than 1% in Tuesday morning’s trade. Retail sentiment on Stocktwits around the company trended in the ‘extremely bullish’ territory.
Amazon announced Retinal Vision for the Ring security cameras, a new feature that uses advanced AI tuning to make video recordings sharper even in challenging conditions. It is also utilizing AI to transform Alexa into a smart doorbell attendant, with Alexa+ handling the conversation on the user’s behalf and inquiring about the visitor's purpose for their visit. The company says Alexa+ can also manage deliveries, provide instructions, and even identify the purpose of a visit.
The new Ring cameras also come with Search Party, an AI-powered community feature that is designed to help users reunite with their lost dogs. The feature leverages reports of a lost dog in the Ring app and then uses nearby Ring cameras to look for possible matches using AI.
Amazon’s new lineup of Ring security cameras and doorbells starts at $60 and ranges up to $500, with pre-orders beginning on Tuesday.

The new Kindle Scribe is priced at $430, with a higher-end model available for $630, and is expected to be made available for purchase later this year, according to the company.
