  • Dell shares hit record highs.
  • Stock records best week in over two years.
  • Mizuho raised its target price on Dell stock to $260 from $215.

Dell Technologies (DELL) stock soared to record highs on Friday, benefiting from a public endorsement by President Donald Trump at a White House event.

DELL stock gained nearly 24% in the week ending May 8, 2026, its best performance in over two years, as investors cheered the laptop maker’s transition from a tech hardware maker to an AI infrastructure powerhouse.

At a Mother's Day event at the White House, President Trump thanked the Dell family and said, "Go out and buy a Dell! They're great."

On April 30, Trump made a similar endorsement of Intel on Truth Social, which had pushed INTC stock higher in after-hours trading.

DELL Analyst View

Beyond the political endorsement, several analysts lauded the company for its dominant position in the artificial intelligence server and infrastructure market. Mizuho analyst Vijay Rakesh raised his price target on the stock on Wednesday to $260.00 from $215.00, maintaining an ‘Outperform’ rating.

Last week, Bank of America (BofA) raised the price target on DELL to $246 from $205 and kept a ‘Buy’ rating on the shares.

“The next phase of AI is agentic, and the importance of agentic AI for Dell and HPE (HPE) is increasing demand for AI servers and storage, but especially their traditional server business,” wrote BofA in a note.

Dell’s AI Advancements

TotalEnergies (TTE) announced on Thursday that it will sign a contract with Dell and Nvidia (NVDA) for the design and installation of Pangea 5, its next supercomputer.

The supercomputer will be placed at the Jean Feger Scientific and Technical Center in Pau, in the South of France, and is expected to multiply TTE’s computing power six fold and will be commissioned for the first time in 2027.

Dell announced in March that it was the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ship desktops featuring the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, capable of handling trillion-parameter models.

DELL Retail View

Retail sentiment on Stocktwits was ‘bullish’ with ‘high’ message volumes.

One user highlighted what Trump’s comment had done to Intel stock.

Dell is expected to release earnings for the quarter ending March on May 28 during after market hours.

DELL stock has soared 107% year-to-date.
