Meta Platforms Inc. (META) announced on Monday that Dina Powell McCormick will join the company as President and Vice Chairman, marking a major addition to its executive leadership team.
Powell McCormick, who previously served on Meta’s Board of Directors, will now play a central role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and overseeing key operational initiatives.
In her new position, Powell McCormick will work closely with Meta’s compute and infrastructure teams to ensure that the company’s multi-billion-dollar investments in data centers, energy systems, and global connectivity meet the goals.
She will also focus on building strategic capital partnerships and exploring ways to expand Meta’s long-term investment capacity.
Powell McCormick had served as Deputy National Security Advisor from 2017 to 2018, under President Donald Trump’s first term. She also served as a Senior White House Advisor and Assistant Secretary of State under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice during President George W. Bush's administration.
Meta stock inched over 0.4% lower in Monday’s premarket. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the stock remained in ‘bearish’ territory amid ‘high’ message volume levels.
Powell McCormick has over 25 years of experience in global finance, national security, and economic development. She spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs in senior leadership roles, including a seat on the firm’s Management Committee, as well as heading the Global Sovereign Investment Banking division.
According to a CNBC report, Meta has been expanding its leadership team with former Trump administration officials, including the recent appointment of Curtis Joseph Mahoney as Chief Legal Officer.
In a Truth Social post, President Trump congratulated Powell McCormick on her appointment as Meta’s new president, praising her talent and service in his administration.

META stock has gained over 6% in the last 12 months.
