  • The network will cover 1,000 micro-edge sites across 100+ U.S. cities, each hosting up to 48 GPUs for AI and HPC tasks.
  • Datavault estimates the fleet’s total capacity is valued at roughly $1.44 billion to $1.92 billion, based on current edge GPU pricing.
  • Full deployment of the 48,000-GPU fleet is expected to start in the third quarter of 2026.

Datavault AI Inc. (DVLT) on Thursday said it is rolling out a large-scale, quantum-resistant edge computing network to ease the global shortage of high-performance AI compute (HPC), targeting businesses that have been locked out of hyperscaler GPU supply.

The company said initial sites of its SanQtum-powered GPU infrastructure are already operational in New York and Philadelphia.

Expanding Edge AI Infrastructure

Datavault AI said the full commercial deployment of the 48,000-GPU fleet is expected to begin in the third quarter (Q3) of 2026.

The network is designed to operate outside traditional hyperscaler ecosystems, where demand for advanced GPUs has far outstripped supply. The system will span 1,000 urban micro-edge locations across more than 100 U.S. cities, each supporting up to 48 GPUs optimized for low-latency AI inference and HPC workloads.

Datavault AI’s proprietary systems, DataValue, DataScore, and Information Data Exchange (IDE), are embedded directly into the network, enabling real-time data monetization and tokenization at the edge.

Following the update, Datavault AI stock traded over 14% higher on Thursday afternoon.

Designed To Bypass Hyperscaler Bottlenecks

Datavault estimates the total capacity of the fleet is valued at between $1.44 billion and $1.92 billion based on current pricing for edge GPU hardware.

Around 30 more cities are expected to go live by early July 2026, with the full 48,000-GPU rollout starting in Q3 and nationwide operations projected to generate revenue by year-end 2026. By distributing compute resources across smaller urban edge sites, Datavault AI seeks to reduce latency and improve access.

"The GPU supply crisis has created a two-tier market - hyperscalers with capacity and enterprises waiting in a year-long queue.”
