TVS Motor reported its auto sales numbers for June, broadly in line with street expectations, despite a decline in electric vehicle (EV) sales. The company clocked total sales of 4.02 lakh units in June, registering a 20.5% year-on-year growth compared to 3.34 lakh units in the same month last year.
The figure was slightly below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of 4.10 lakh units.
Two-wheeler sales stood at 3.86 lakh units, marking a 20% increase from 3.22 lakh units in June 2023. However, electric two-wheeler sales declined 9.2% year-on-year to 14,400 units, down from 15,859 units a year ago.
Exports surged, with the company shipping 1.17 lakh units in June — a 54% jump from 76,074 units last year. Meanwhile, three-wheeler sales also saw momentum, rising 42% year-on-year to 16,303 units, up from 11,478 units in June 2023.
The shares of the automaker fell as much as 1.13% to hit the intraday low of
₹2,884.9 apiece in the session on Tuesday (July 1). The shares have gained 20% in the year so far.
