Oracle (ORCL) announced on Monday that it will be deploying OpenAI’s newly launched AI model, the GPT-5, across its database and cloud application portfolio.

This includes Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, Oracle NetSuite, and Oracle Industry Applications, such as Oracle Health. The company said that the deployment of GPT-5 across its database portfolio and SaaS applications would help customers enhance multi-step reasoning, accelerate code generation, and increase the accuracy and depth of business insights.

Oracle’s stock edged 0.7% lower after the opening bell, but retail sentiment on Stocktwits trended higher within ‘bullish’ territory over the past day. The announcement to deploy OpenAI comes less than a week after it was reported that Oracle and Alphabet’s (GOOG/GOOGL) Google had struck a deal to offer Gemini’s AI models through Oracle’s cloud computing services.

Oracle has positioned itself at the center of the multi-cloud ecosystem as it builds partnerships with Google, Microsoft (MSFT), and Amazon’s (AMZN) AWS. In its latest earnings, the company reported an 11% year-over-year rise in revenue. Cloud services and license support generated $11.7 billion, while cloud and on-premises license revenue came in at $2.01 billion.

During the earnings call, co-founder Larry Ellison said the company recently received a request from an unnamed client for all available cloud capacity. “We never got an order like that before,” Ellison said. “We had to move things around. We did the best we could to give them the capacity they needed.”

Oracle is also a partner in OpenAI’s Stargate artificial intelligence infrastructure project, though Catz noted the effort “is not formed yet.”
