Big Customers Lining Up, Says Ouster

Ouster stated that some major customers, including Alphabet Inc.’s (GOOG, GOOGL) Google, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, and Liebherr, intend to adopt the company’s latest family of lidar sensors.

The company added that these customers range from those operating in the automotive and robotics segments to those in the industrial and smart infrastructure markets.

Ouster said its Rev8 OS sensors are available to order starting Monday, with shipping scheduled to begin this quarter.

Making Autonomous Driving Easier

Ouster stated that the new Rev8 sensors unify structure and color to provide the full context necessary for autonomous driving, including road signs, interpret brake lights, and more.

The company added that Rev8’s sensors capture megapixel-resolution data and assign color to each point at the hardware level, reducing delay and improving alignment. The single-sensor setup eliminates the need for complex calibration and provides combined 3D and color data, operating across lighting conditions from 1 lux to 2 million lux.

“With the L4 Ouster Silicon, we are delivering on the promise of our digital architecture to deliver exponential improvements in performance, doubling our core specs and simultaneously introducing the world’s first native color lidar to give machines 3D human-like sight for the next era of Physical AI,” said Ouster CEO Angus Pacala.
