Denmark Sends Military Reinforcements

According to a report by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR News), Denmark has sent military reinforcements to Greenland amid President Trump’s threats.

“We are now moving forward with the whole issue of a more permanent, larger presence in Greenland from Danish defense, but also with the participation of other countries,” Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen told reporters.

Poulsen also added that the increased military presence in Greenland was a “clear response to the challenge facing the Arctic,” according to the report.

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated on Wednesday that the country will open a consulate in Greenland next month, according to France24.

“Greenland does not want to be owned, governed ... or integrated into the United States. Greenland has made the choice of Denmark, NATO, (European) Union,” he said, according to the report.
