Shares of Candel Therapeutics (CADL) saw a pre-market boost on Friday as investors remained upbeat on the company’s recently reported Phase 3 prostate cancer trial results, putting the stock on track for its best week in a month.
CADL stock is also on track to climb for a third straight session.
Candel picked up buzz earlier this week after it published a pivotal Phase 3 data for its prostate cancer therapy, Aglatimagene Besadenovec (CAN-2409), in The Lancet Oncology. The study showed that a combination of Aglatimagene with standard radiotherapy improved disease-free survival by 30% compared with radiotherapy alone in patients with localized prostate cancer.

The randomized trial enrolled 745 patients and met its primary endpoint, with a 38% improvement in prostate cancer-specific disease-free survival. The therapy showed a favorable safety profile, with most treatment-related side effects being mild to moderate and temporary. Candel said the published data will support its planned Biologics License Application (BLA) submission in Q4 of 2026.
The stock has an average 12-month price target of $19.63, according to Koyfin data. This represents a potential upside of around 111%.
CADL carries a Strong Buy consensus rating, with eight of the nine analysts covering the stock recommending a ‘Buy’ and one maintaining a ‘Hold’ rating.

Retail sentiment surrounding CADL on Stocktwits turned ‘bullish’ from ‘neutral’ while message volumes remained ‘high.’
One bullish user highlighted the company’s “world-class science” and “disciplined capital allocation” as key factors supporting strong value creation.

Another user said that “even a $10B buyout seems cheap” given the biotech firm’s potential.
The stock has gained more than 57% so far this year.
