I bought my first home when I was 19. 
That was back in March of 1995. 
I’ve owned multiple homes since. 
It’s almost impossible for first time homebuyers to buy a home now. Especially if they’re young. 
Unless you receive gifts of equity or you’re being helped in some way. 
Wage increases aren’t coming. 
That leaves one of two things. 
Lower home prices or The FED starts buying 2% MBS’s again. 

What a mess.

In Germany, rates for house is 3.5~4%(10 years financing) if 40% of house price can be covered by cash. In Munich very average house in the outskirts is 1.5M. Loan is almost impossible for usual people.
