Citron Research Picks Infleqtion Over Rigetti As Possible Winner, Highlights Quantum Market Mispricing

Citron highlighted that Infleqtion holds multiple roles in Nvidia’s quantum ecosystem.

The project aims to deploy an autonomous quantum sensor in orbit capable of detecting minute variations in Earth’s gravitational field.Unlike earlier experiments, the system is designed to operate independently, without astronaut intervention. The goal is to demonstrate that quantum sensing can deliver consistent, high-precision data from space.Such capabilities could have wide-ranging applications, including mapping natural resources, monitoring infrastructure, and tracking activity below the Earth’s surface. Kinsella also pointed to potential national security use cases, including observing satellite movements in orbit.“This QGG is a pathfinder mission. It’s to prove it works,” he said. “Then there’s much, much larger opportunities beyond that.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">The $40M Number Investors Should Watch</h2>Kinsella gave Stocktwits two concrete milestones for retail traders to watch in 2026 – hitting $40 million in revenue and&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/infleqtion-stock-jumps-premarket-on-quantum-milestone-in-uk/cZ32ALORIfB">reaching</a> 30 logical qubits on its quantum computing platform, up from 12. The path to 100 logical qubits by 2028 is when the company believes quantum computers will start delivering commercially useful results.It’s not just space that Infeqtion is focused on. In December, the company deployed the UK’s only operational 100-qubit quantum computing system at the National Quantum Computing Center (NQCC), marking a milestone in the country’s national quantum strategy.&nbsp;The company also collaborated with NVIDIA (NVDA) to publish the world's first demonstration of a materials science application using logical qubits, which placed Infleqtion's Superstaq quantum computing software platform in a category shared by very few companies globally.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NVDA">Nvidia's stock</a> was also among the top trending tickers on Stocktwits at the time of writing. The shares edged 0.4% higher in midday trade, with retail sentiment rising to 'bullish' from 'neutral' territory over the past day, accompanied by chatter at 'normal' levels.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Wall Street Is Bullish On Infleqtion</h2>“Space remains a particularly important market for us in a major area of growth,” Kinsella said during the company’s April 8 earnings call. Wall Street analysts have taken note. BTIG initiated coverage with a ‘Buy’ rating and a $22 price target, citing Infleqtion’s ability to generate revenue from its neutral atom platform. <ul class="summary-bullets"><li>In an exclusive interview with Stocktwits, Infleqtion CEO Matt Kinsella identified the company’s atomic clocks as the entry point into the Pentagon’s Quantum Battlefield Information Dominance strategy.</li><li>He added that the opportunity extends beyond clocks into a broader quantum stack, including sensing, navigation, and space-based systems.</li><li>According to him, the current precision clock market ranges up to $1 billion and is expanding as GPS vulnerabilities become more visible.</li></ul>Infleqtion (INFQ) CEO Matt Kinsella said in an exclusive interview with Stocktwits that rising GPS disruption in global conflict zones is accelerating demand for quantum-based navigation and sensing systems, positioning the company for what he called a “huge market expansion opportunity.”Since the U.S.-Iran war kicked off in late February, the Persian Gulf has become one of the most intensive GPS-denial environments in the world. Research&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.resecurity.com/blog/article/iran-war-kinetic-cyber-electronic-and-psychological-warfare-convergence">showed</a> that the conflict triggered the most extensive GPS spoofing and jamming ever recorded in any war. It has disrupted maritime, aviation, and military operations across the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding airspace.&nbsp;For most of the defense establishment, that's a crisis. For Kinsella, it is a validation. “GPS denial is becoming more and more of a top-of-mind thing — not just for the government, but for commercial entities as well,” he told Stocktwits in an&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://youtu.be/OKvhRnCfJdo">exclusive interview.&nbsp;</a><a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/INFQ/sentiment">INFQ’s stock price</a> rose as much as 6.5% in pre-market trade, on track to extend its five-day rally. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around INFQ has trended in ‘extremely bullish’ territory after the company delivered an upgraded quantum physics package to the International Space Station (ISS) earlier this week. Chatter rose to ‘extremely high’ from ‘high’ levels.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Pentagon Backs Quantum Battlefield Tech Push</h2>Kinsella said that Infleqtion's quantum atomic clocks are the entry point into the Department of War’s (DoW) Quantum Battlefield Information Dominance (QBID), which is one of the six critical technologies outlined by the US as a priority from a national security perspective.&nbsp;“You can think of quantum atomic clocks as sort of the least complex thing you can build with our core neutral atom technology,” he said, describing the broader platform that underpins the company’s quantum sensors and space-based systems.According to Kinsella, Infleqtion’s clocks are roughly 1,000 times more precise than existing classical precision clocks. The systems are already field-deployable in a three-U rack format, with a smaller one-U version under development. Over time, Kinsella said the goal is to shrink the technology further. “Ultimately, the path for all of our products is chip scale, because all of our componentry is just photonics and electronics,” he added.Infleqtion has already secured an $11 million contract under an accelerated U.S. Army program designed to fast-track deployment of emerging technologies, Kinsella told Stocktwits.<h2 class="st-heading-2">From GPS Disruption To Market Expansion</h2>Infleqtion’s CEO estimated the current market for precision timing systems at several hundred million dollars, up to $1 billion, largely driven by replacement demand for legacy hardware.“Yes, if you just isolate the clocks and think about the addressable market for that particular product, there’s a very robust precision clock market today,” Kinsella said. “What we provide is about a thousand times more precise than the already very precise precision clocks out there.”He noted that the Iran conflict has made the expansion case more urgent. Every platform that previously relied on GPS for timing and positioning has now become a potential customer for a quantum alternative.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Infleqtion’s Path From Clocks To Full Quantum Stack</h2>Kinsella said that atomic clocks represent only the starting point for Infleqtion’s broader quantum strategy. The same neutral atom technology underpins more advanced sensing systems, including inertial navigation, RF sensing, and space-based quantum payloads.
