Its latest sale in the oil and gas portfolio was of Olympus Energy last year.&nbsp;</p><p>Blackstone formed Beacon in early 2016 with a focus on acquiring, exploring, and developing upstream oil and gas properties in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Its revenue totaled $3.67 billion, beating consensus estimate of $3.57 billion and representing a 7% increase year-over-year, as per data from fiscal.ai.</p><p>"2025 marked another year of strong performance and strategic progress for State Street. We delivered robust financial results, achieving positive operating leverage, expanding pre-tax margin, and generating higher returns,” said Ron O’Hanley, Chairman and CEO at State Street.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Push Into Digital Assets</h2><p>State Street earlier in the week announced the launch of its Digital Asset Platform, an infrastructure for tokenized assets. The platform strategically positions State Street to be the bridge between traditional and digital finance and the connection point between digital asset platforms for its clients.</p><p>The launch enables State Street's digital ambitions to develop core products for its clients, including tokenized Money Market Funds, ETFs, tokenized assets, and cash products including tokenized deposits and stablecoins.&nbsp;</p><p>The platform includes wallet management, custodial, and cash capabilities, designed to support tokenized product development across jurisdictions covering both private and public permissioned blockchain networks, it said.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Firms Into Digital Push</h2><p>Earlier this week, BNY, a global financial services company, took its first step in its strategy to tokenize deposits by enabling the on‑chain mirrored representation of client deposit balances on its Digital Assets platform.&nbsp;</p><p>Global financial markets are shifting towards an always-on operating model, due to which institutions are seeking faster and more efficient ways to move assets with greater settlement certainty, transparency. Why Are State Street Shares Falling Today?

Financial details were not disclosed in the statement.&nbsp;</p><p>The new windfarms will be located approximately 50km to 80km off the UK’s East Anglia coast in the North Sea and will comprise 184 turbines, offshore substations, and a connection to the National Grid.</p><p>“This investment underscores our conviction in the long-term importance of UK renewables, and the central role offshore wind will play in advancing the country’s energy transition,” said Vincent Policard, Co-Head of European Infrastructure at KKR.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">$15 Billion Wind Project</h2><p>A <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/climate-energy/rwe-sells-50-stake-british-norfolk-offshore-wind-projects-kkr-2026-01-14/">report</a> from Reuters News said that KKR paid around $1.8 billion for the stake. KKR, in a separate statement, said the two wind farms will require more than $15 billion in total development and capital spending to make them operational by 2029 and 2030, respectively.</p><p>The offshore wind projects are expected to be able to power over 3 million UK homes with clean energy.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">KKR’s Infrastructure Platform</h2><p>Since 2011, KKR’s Infrastructure platform has committed more than $31 billion into energy transition and renewables infrastructure globally. KKR Shares Rise – What’s With $15B UK Offshore Wind Project?

Renewable energy firm RWE and KKR have agreed on a long-term partnership to jointly realize the Norfolk Vanguard East and Norfolk Vanguard West projects in the UK.

However, it fell short of its European rival Airbus, who delivered 793 commercial planes in 2025.&nbsp;</p><p>Boeing is seeing a renewed demand for its planes after challenging years for the aerospace giant. The company is ramping up its production for 737 Max and 787 dreamliners in order to meet global demand.&nbsp;</p><p>Boeing also said it delivered 160 commercial planes in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with 57 it delivered in the same quarter in 2024.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Surge In Orders</h2><p>Alaska Airlines last week, placed a record order for the plane manufacturer signaling that airlines are moving ahead with Boeing orders. Alaska Airlines placed an order for 105 Boeing 737-10 aircraft and five additional 787 widebody jets.</p><p>Boeing has also been able to win several key defense deals as well as new commercial orders from across the globe including middle east airline Emirates.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Growth Outpaces Airbus</h2><p>Boeing, despite delivering fewer commercial airplanes in 2025, posted significantly higher growth figures compared to its rival Airbus who posted a 4% growth in deliveries.&nbsp;</p><p>Airbus had warned of supply issues hurting its delivery targets. Boeing Stock Rallies As FY25 Deliveries Jump 435%, Beating Growth At Rival Airbus

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The settlement comes after a federal judge rejected an earlier settlement in November.</li><li>Under the new settlement, Capital One will pay $425 million in restitution, including an estimated $34 million to New Yorkers who had 360 Savings accounts.</li></ul><p>Capital One shares plunged on Monday after a federal judge preliminarily approved the company's revised $425 million to settle a lawsuit related to its 360 ‌ Savings accounts with depositors who said they were cheated out of high interest rates.&nbsp;</p><p>The settlement comes after a federal judge in November rejected an earlier settlement where Capital One agreed to pay depositors $300 million to cover interest the depositors could have earned and $125 million of additional interest to depositors who still have the 360 savings account.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">New Settlement</h2><p>The settlement, which has been preliminarily approved by the court on Monday, will require Capital One to pay $425 million in restitution, including an estimated $34 million to New Yorkers who had 360 Savings accounts.</p><p>The settlement will also require Capital One to match 360 Savings and 360 Performance Savings interest rates, erasing the misleading two-tiered system of accounts at the heart of Attorney General James’ lawsuit and providing an estimated $530 million to consumers nationwide in future additional interest, according to a statement from Attorney General Letitia James.</p><p>“After Attorney General James led a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general in opposing an earlier proposed class action settlement that did not deliver enough for Capital One customers who were wronged, this new settlement more than doubles the value of the earlier one,” said Attorney General Letitia James in a statement.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Trump’s 10% Credit Card Rate Cap Fears</h2><p>President Donald Trump on Friday said he was considering a one-year, 10% cap on credit card interest rates, arguing that current rates of 20%–30% are excessively high and that he was moving to fulfill one of his campaign promises.</p><p>Credit card companies are expected to get hit the most by this step if it is implemented, as their interest income will see a hit that typically accounts for the majority of credit card revenue and an even larger share of profit.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">How Did Stocktwits Users React?</h2><p>Retail sentiment around COF trended in ‘extremely bullish’ territory amid ‘extremely high’ message volume.&nbsp;</p><p>Shares of Capital One have risen nearly 33% over the past year.&nbsp;</p><p><i>For updates and corrections, email newsroom[at]stocktwits[dot]com.</i><br>&nbsp;</p>

Capital One Shares Plunges - What’s With $425M Settlement?

(<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/KKR">KKR</a>) has reportedly more than quadrupled its money in a bet on financial software maker OneStream Inc. Boeing’s CEO Tells Staff ‘Important Work Ahead’ To Continue Its Turnaround: Report

According to a report from Bloomberg News, Ortberg said the company has made a lot of progress and has set the foundation to keep moving Boeing forward in 2026. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Konik said early signs of Hill’s strategy are already visible in North America, where inventory is healthier, and margins are improving.</li><li>He acknowledged Nike’s weakness in China, especially in the latest quarter, but added that it could even out when you lap those comparisons in four quarters.</li><li>Nike’s position in a highly attractive footwear category, limited competitive threats, leadership status, and strong brand moat will make it special in 2026, he added.</li></ul><p>Jefferies believes Nike is poised for a comeback under the leadership of Elliott Hill, a long-time company veteran who became the footwear company’s chief executive officer in October 2024.</p><p>“Nike is going to get its act together,” said Randy Konik, Jefferies managing director, on CNBC’s 'Squawk on the Street'. “They had the wrong CEO. They have the right CEO now,” he added.</p><p>Konik said early signs of Hill’s strategy are already visible in North America, where inventory is healthier, and margins are improving.</p><p>Shares of Nike are up marginally, climbing 0.05% in Friday morning trade at the time of writing.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Better Solutions</h2><p>Nike has struggled with leadership changes, management resets, excess inventory, and slow turnaround over the past few years. The sneaker brand also faced stiff competition and a challenging economic climate, particularly in China, which was further squeezed by the recent tariff wars.</p><p>Given Hill's 35 years of experience at Nike, he is implementing better solutions, Konik added. “He knows how to fix the culture, and he knows how to fix the problem through an easy playbook: fixing product and balancing distribution,” he said.</p><p>In its latest quarterly results, Nike’s sales in China fell 17% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, while footwear sales declined 21% for the same period. Nearly 15% of Nike’s annual revenue comes from China. Meanwhile, overall sales in North America grew by 9% in the same period.</p><p>Konik acknowledged the weakness in China, saying it was a tough quarter for Nike but added that “it can become good when you lap those comparisons in four quarters.”</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Cook’s Confidence</h2><p>Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook purchased about $3 million of Nike’s stock in the open market, reiterating his confidence in the company. Cook is also on Nike’s board.</p><p>Konik said that in the global sneaker market, only about 10 players truly matter, and even after giving up some share, Nike remains the leader and is still well positioned. He cited the company’s position in a highly attractive category, &nbsp;limited competitive threats, leadership status, and strong brand moat as favorable.</p><p>“That’s what makes Nike special for next year. And that’s what Tim Cook saw, I think, with his stock purchase,” Konik noted. “The best part of Nike is it can use its own playbook,” he added.</p><p>Earlier on Friday, UBS also expressed its confidence in Nike’s brand and said it continues to believe its business will improve. It rated the stock as “Neutral,” saying that the rating reflects the view that the company's turnaround will take longer than the market expects. UBS maintained a $62 price target on Nike shares.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Turbulent Few Years</h2><p>Nike has seen leadership changes, management resets, excess inventory, and renewed focus on innovation, leading to a slow, uneven turnaround under scrutiny.</p><p>Nike has worked to clean up excess inventory, particularly by reducing production of legacy franchises such as Air Jordans and Air Force 1s. While the reset pressured near-term results, the company said in December that inventory levels are now healthy across North America, EMEA, and other key regions.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Struggles In China</h2><p>The struggle in China has been longstanding for Nike, as it is continuing to face steep competition from other retailers. The recent tariff war between the two largest economies has further slowed Nike’s efforts to gain market share in China’s booming outdoor sports market.</p><p>Nike, in its recently reported second-quarter results, said its footwear sales in China fell 21%, and overall sales fell 17% to $1.42 billion. The China region accounts for nearly 15% of Nike’s annual revenue.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Tim Cook’s Vote Of Confidence</h2><p>Apple CEO Tim Cook has, time and again, through strategic shifts, market scepticism, and operational missteps, publicly and privately reinforced his confidence in Nike, lending credibility when the brand needed it most.</p><p>Cook has been on Nike’s board since 2005. Nike Turnaround Faces A Longer Road Despite Brand Strength, UBS Says 

It maintained a $62 price target as inventory, China weakness, and competition weigh on momentum.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Following the relentless surge in the company’s stock price, its market cap has crossed $27 billion.&nbsp;</li><li>Analysts at Morgan Stanley have raised their price target on the stock by 60% to $304 from $190.&nbsp;</li><li>Lumentum’s CEO has said the company’s broad optical portfolio is well-positioned to support the rapid expansion of AI compute.</li></ul><p>Shares of Lumentum Holdings (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/LITE">LITE</a>) hit a record high on Wednesday, riding a wave of strong analyst commentary and robust excitement around artificial intelligence and cloud data centers, which have boosted demand for its products.</p><p>Shares of Lumentum have more than quadrupled this year and are on track for their eighth-straight monthly gains. The surge has lifted the company’s market cap beyond $27 billion. &nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">What Is Making Analysts Optimistic?</h2><p>AI-fueled data center expansions, as well as increased demand for cloud and enterprise services, have driven up interest in firms that design and manufacture optical and other high-performance components crucial to cloud data centers and telecom networks.</p><p>Analysts at several top brokerages have raised their price targets on Lumentum, citing strong momentum in the optical fiber space amid rising global adoption of artificial intelligence. Morgan Stanley raised its price target on the stock by 60% to $304 from $190.&nbsp;</p><p>Bank of America analysts said it “significantly” raised its price target on Lumentum to $375 from $210 due to outsized demand for optical transceivers and components, which continue to exceed supply, as per TheFly.&nbsp;</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Management’s Confidence</h2><p>Lumentum’s top executive, Michael E. Hurlston, said during an earnings call with analysts last month that 60% of the company’s sales are now coming from cloud and AI infrastructure. Further, adding that the company’s growth is powered by AI demand for Lumentum’s laser chips and optical transceivers in data centers.</p><p>He said that the company’s broad optical portfolio is well-positioned to support the rapid expansion of AI compute.</p><p>The company saw sales for its first quarter (Q1) ended September 27 of its fiscal year 2026 surge 58.4% to $533.8 million, beating analyst estimates of $526 million, according to Fiscal.ai data.
