They have the right CEO now,” he added.Konik said early signs of Hill’s strategy are already visible in North America, where inventory is healthier, and margins are improving.Shares of Nike are up marginally, climbing 0.05% in Friday morning trade at the time of writing.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Better Solutions</h2>Nike has struggled with leadership changes, management resets, excess inventory, and slow turnaround over the past few years. The sneaker brand also faced stiff competition and a challenging economic climate, particularly in China, which was further squeezed by the recent tariff wars.Given Hill's 35 years of experience at Nike, he is implementing better solutions, Konik added. “He knows how to fix the culture, and he knows how to fix the problem through an easy playbook: fixing product and balancing distribution,” he said.In its latest quarterly results, Nike’s sales in China fell 17% in the second quarter (Q2) of 2026, while footwear sales declined 21% for the same period. Nearly 15% of Nike’s annual revenue comes from China. Meanwhile, overall sales in North America grew by 9% in the same period.Konik acknowledged the weakness in China, saying it was a tough quarter for Nike but added that “it can become good when you lap those comparisons in four quarters.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">Cook’s Confidence</h2>Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook purchased about $3 million of Nike’s stock in the open market, reiterating his confidence in the company. Cook is also on Nike’s board.Konik said that in the global sneaker market, only about 10 players truly matter, and even after giving up some share, Nike remains the leader and is still well positioned. He cited the company’s position in a highly attractive category, &nbsp;limited competitive threats, leadership status, and strong brand moat as favorable.“That’s what makes Nike special for next year. And that’s what Tim Cook saw, I think, with his stock purchase,” Konik noted. “The best part of Nike is it can use its own playbook,” he added.Earlier on Friday, UBS also expressed its confidence in Nike’s brand and said it continues to believe its business will improve. The surge has lifted the company’s market cap beyond $27 billion. &nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Is Making Analysts Optimistic?</h2>AI-fueled data center expansions, as well as increased demand for cloud and enterprise services, have driven up interest in firms that design and manufacture optical and other high-performance components crucial to cloud data centers and telecom networks.Analysts at several top brokerages have raised their price targets on Lumentum, citing strong momentum in the optical fiber space amid rising global adoption of artificial intelligence. Morgan Stanley raised its price target on the stock by 60% to $304 from $190.&nbsp;Bank of America analysts said it “significantly” raised its price target on Lumentum to $375 from $210 due to outsized demand for optical transceivers and components, which continue to exceed supply, as per TheFly.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Management’s Confidence</h2>Lumentum’s top executive, Michael E. Hurlston, said during an earnings call with analysts last month that 60% of the company’s sales are now coming from cloud and AI infrastructure. Further, adding that the company’s growth is powered by AI demand for Lumentum’s laser chips and optical transceivers in data centers.He said that the company’s broad optical portfolio is well-positioned to support the rapid expansion of AI compute.The company saw sales for its first quarter (Q1) ended September 27 of its fiscal year 2026 surge 58.4% to $533.8 million, beating analyst estimates of $526 million, according to Fiscal.ai data. Lumentum Stock On Track To Record 8th Consecutive Monthly Gain – What’s Making Analysts So Bullish?

The stock hit a record high on Wednesday, helped by positive commentary from top analysts and strong revenue expectations for the current quarter. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>In comparison, Tesla issued 11 recalls in the U.S. this year, a vast majority of which were fixed via over-the-air software updates.&nbsp;</li><li>During Ford’s second quarter earnings in July, Ford chief operating officer Kumar Galhotra admitted that the company is “not satisfied with the current level of recalls or the number of vehicles impacted.”&nbsp;</li><li>The executive in October said they expect to see an improvement in recalls “soon.”</li></ul>Ford Motor Co (F) issued 150 recalls this year compared to rival EV giant Tesla Inc’s 11 recalls, according to data from U.S. regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.Ford issued the most number of recalls in the U.S. this year, seconded by Stellantis who issued 53 recalls. Rival General Motors issued 27 recalls in the meantime.The Dearborn-based automaker issued recalls this year to fix concerns over its electrical system, back over prevention, powertrain, exterior lighting, suspension and more. The company most recently recalled over 45,000 of its Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles over concerns that the Light Driver Control Module B (LDCMB) may fail, preventing the turn signals, daytime running lights, low beam, and high beam headlights from illuminating.In October, it recalled nearly 1.5 million vehicles including certain Flex, Explorer, Lincoln MKT, Lincoln MKZ, C-Max, Escape, Taurus, Fusion, Fiesta, and Mustang vehicles, citing concerns that the rearview camera may display a a distorted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse. Dealers will inspect and replace the camera as necessary to fix the issue, the company then said.In comparison, Tesla issued 11 recalls in the U.S. this year, a vast majority of which were fixed via over-the-air software updates.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Ford Executives Flag Concerns</h2>During Ford’s second quarter earnings in July, chief operating officer Kumar Galhotra admitted that the company is “not satisfied with the current level of recalls or the number of vehicles impacted.”In a more recent earnings call in October, Galhotra said that the company has radically improved launch quality over the past two years in a bid to reduce recalls and is conducting rigorous engineering reviews to find and fix issues.“It takes time for these improvements to improve our recall numbers, as older models have to work their way out of the system. We're already seeing our recall costs shift towards more aged vehicles. Since the peak recall period is in years three to five, we expect a meaningful improvement soon,” he said.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Other Focuses and Pivots</h2>Besides committing to reduce recalls, Ford earlier this month <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/gene-munster-calls-ford-s-19-5-b-ev-retreat-good-news-for-tesla-as-legacy-automaker-scales-back/cLe7qsCREoU">decided</a> to pull back on electric vehicles and said that it expects to incur $19.5 billion in EV-related charges as it kills several EV models to stem losses from the segment. In the first quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025, of its fiscal year 2026, Coty’s total debt increased by nearly 2% to $4.07 billion compared to the same period last year.Coty anticipates that proceeds from the Wella transaction, together with expected free cash flow of over $350 million in the first half of FY26, will reduce its financial net leverage to about 3x by the end of calendar year 2025.Its adjusted profit of $0.12 per share in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2026 was below analyst expectations of $0.15 per share, according to Fiscal.ai. Why Did Coty Offload Wella From Its Portfolio?

(SRPT) on Tuesday said that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved dosing in a study cohort to evaluate the use of an immunosuppressive regimen as part of treatment with Elevidys gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SRPT">SRPT shares</a> gained nearly 1% on Tuesday morning at the time of writing.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Study Plans</h2>The data from the study cohort will be used to determine whether administering Sirolimus before and after the Elevidys infusion can help reduce acute liver injury in patients who cannot walk, the company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investorrelations.sarepta.com/news-releases/news-release-details/sarepta-announces-approval-begin-endeavor-cohort-8-evaluate">said</a>. Siromilus belongs to a group of medicines known as immunosuppressive agents and has shown promise in managing certain aspects of liver disease and its complications.The study cohort will enroll about 25 patients in the U.S. who are unable to walk. They will be treated with 14 days of peri-infusion Sirolimus dosing before Elevidys administration and 12 weeks after administration. &nbsp;“We plan to initiate Cohort 8 by the end of this year and pending enrollment, complete primary endpoint data collection in the second half of 2026,” said Louise Rodino-Klapac, president of research and development and technical operations at Sarepta.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Sarepta’s Rocky Road With Elevidys</h2>Elevidys, a medicine intended for the treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), created safety concerns following the death of two patients after treatment earlier this year. Both non-ambulatory patients suffered from acute liver failure. DMD is a severe, inherited genetic disorder that causes progressive muscle weakness and degeneration.While Sarepta resumed shipments to DMD patients who can walk after a temporary pause earlier this year, it is now developing a risk-mitigation approach for patients who cannot walk to resume shipments in this particular patient segment.However, a Citi analyst said in August that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration may determine that additional steps beyond Siromilus are recommended or required for non-ambulatory Duchenne muscular dystrophy patients on Elevidys. Uber Delivers Solid Earnings, But Tepid Q4 Guidance Sends Stock Lower
