Medicaid is a joint federal and state program in the United States that provides low-cost or free health coverage to eligible low-income individuals.“States have not funded in line with actual cost trends, so funding levels are not sufficient to cover the health needs of state enrollees. While we're making steady progress in bridging this gap with states, the mismatch between rate adequacy and member acuity will likely extend through 2026," Hemsley said, according to an earnings call transcript provided by Fiscal AI. Pfizer CEO Reportedly Says Vaccine Approvals Getting Harder

According to a report from Bloomberg, Bourla said that it's harder to get vaccine approvals and not drug approvals. 

UnitedHealth Group’s (UNH) shareholder Accountability Board has reportedly filed a proposal seeking an independent chairman of the board, separate from the CEO.Bloomberg <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-10-03/unitedhealth-shareholder-wants-chairman-and-ceo-roles-separated">reported</a> on Friday that the nonprofit advocacy group’s proposal, if approved by shareholders, would ask the board to amend the company’s bylaws to codify an independent board chair. Currently, Stephen Hemsley serves as both CEO and chair of the board.“We were very disturbed to see recently that at such a trying time for UnitedHealth, the company chose to go backward and combine the CEO and chair roles,” Accountability Board President Matt Prescott said, as reported by Bloomberg. Prescott also called for a stronger leadership structure at the insurer while declining to disclose the size of the group’s stake in UNH, the report said. However, he noted that the stake meets the minimum requirement to file a shareholder proposal.The report noted that it is unclear whether the Accountability Board’s resolution will proceed to a shareholder vote.Shares of UNH traded 3% higher at the time of writing. UnitedHealth Shareholder Proposes Distinct Chairman And Chief Executive Roles: Report

(RIVN) on Thursday said that it delivered 13,201 vehicles in the three months through the end of September, up from the 10,018 deliveries reported in the corresponding quarter of 2024.The company also <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20251002676995/en/Rivian-Releases-Q3-2025-Production-and-Delivery-Figures-and-Sets-Date-for-Third-Quarter-2025-Financial-Results">slashed</a> its full-year delivery guidance to 41,500 to 43,500 vehicles from its previous forecast of between 40,000 and 46,000 cars, as EV demand is expected to dwindle following the expiry of the federal tax credit on the purchase of EVs on Sept. 30. Production at the facility is slated to start in 2028.Rivian is now ramping up for the launch of the R2 SUV in 2026. The midsize version is expected to launch in the first half of 2026 and is projected to have a price tag of $45,000. Rivian plans to manufacture validation builds of the vehicle later this year at its Illinois facility, which has the capacity to produce up to 215,000 vehicles annually. Rivian Slashes Full-Year Delivery Guidance Amid Uncertainty Related To Federal EV Tax Credit Expiry

The company slashed its delivery guidance to 41,500 to 43,500 vehicles for the full year. 

General Motors (GM) on Wednesday said that it delivered 710,347 vehicles in the U.S. in the third quarter (Q3), marking a growth of 7.7% year-over-year.Electric vehicle <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investor.gm.com/static-files/501fc28d-057f-413a-a4cc-0a8a7eaa8257">sales</a> in the quarter hit a fresh record of 66,501 units, marking a growth of 107%, as customers rushed to make their EV purchase before the expiry of the federal tax credit of $7,500 on September 30. The Chevrolet Equinox EV was the company’s best-selling EV in the quarter with 25,085 units delivered. Luxury segment EVs from GM’s Cadillac brand, including the Lyriq, Optiq, and Vistiq, also recorded significant delivery numbers despite higher price points.Chevrolet was the company’s best-selling brand in the quarter, with deliveries rising 8.3% to 710,347 units in the three months through the end of September. While the company’s Cadillac and GMC brands also recorded delivery growth in the quarter, Buick deliveries dropped a steep 14%. GMC is on pace for its best year ever, the company noted. Cadillac, meanwhile, recorded its best third quarter since 2013.Certain models across brands, such as the GMC Terrain, Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse, and Buick Envista, had their best-ever third-quarter sales, the company added. General Motors Reports 7.7% Growth In Q3 Auto Sales In US

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ACAD) announced on Tuesday that its late-stage intranasal Carbetocin trial in Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) patients did not achieve a statistically significant improvement in hyperphagia.The <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://acadia.com/en-us/media/news-releases/acadia-pharmaceuticals-announces-phase-3-compass-pws-trial">study</a> enrolled 175 children and adults aged five to 30 years with PWS, a rare genetic disorder characterized by an insatiable hunger or hyperphagia and a constant need for food, leading to obesity. However, intranasal Carbetocin did not demonstrate a statistically significant improvement over placebo to week 12 on the Hyperphagia Questionnaire for Clinical Trials, the company said.The firm noted that the safety and tolerability of intranasal Carbetocin were consistent with those observed in previous clinical trials, with a low rate of adverse events.Shares of the company tumbled 11% in the pre-market session.
