Rarely do I comment on the ideas that got away from me and I never got in on, but this one was obvious at the time. And everyone knew. The gift was $CBRL . It was a replay of New Coke. They tried to change the image and some of the recipes and it was a horrible failure. The stock tanked. They fired the CEO, restored the recipes, and the stock came back. For years they have been teaching the New Coke story in most Business Schools. I guess the people that were running Cracker Barrel at that time slept thru that class.

$CBRL hadn't closed at a 52-week high since Jul 23, 2025. Today it did. On the Quality Score it's a 14, Above Average, #2 of the 27 stocks in its industry.
