Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. <p>Shares of Caribou Biosciences, Inc. (CRBU) jumped 52% in the pre-market session on Monday after the company announced positive data from early-stage trials of two of its CAR-T cell therapies.</p><p>While one of the therapies was evaluated for the treatment of multiple myeloma, a blood cancer of plasma cells, the other was assessed in B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), a cancer that originates in B lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell that fights infection.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Study In Multiple Myeloma</h2><p>The company said that the first clinical data for its CB-011 <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/11/03/3179047/0/en/Caribou-Biosciences-Announces-Positive-Data-from-CaMMouflage-Phase-1-Trial-of-CB-011-in-Multiple-Myeloma.html">highlights</a> its potential as a best-in-class allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.</p><p>The company now expects to advance the program into the dose expansion phase by the end of the year. In the dose escalation portion of the trial, CB-011 had a manageable safety profile across all dose levels, the company noted. The portion of the trial evaluated the safety and efficacy of CB-011 in 48 patients at multiple dose levels and following two different chemotherapy treatments.</p><h2 class="st-heading-2">Study In B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma</h2><p>Meanwhile, data from an early-stage trial of vispacabtagene regedleucel (Vispa-cel) demonstrated the efficacy and durability of the cell therapy in patients with relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the company <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/11/03/3179104/0/en/Caribou-Biosciences-Announces-Positive-Data-from-ANTLER-Phase-1-Trial-Demonstrating-Efficacy-and-Durability-of-Vispa-cel-CB-010-an-Allogeneic-CAR-T-Cell-Therapy-on-Par-with-Autolog.html">said</a>. Vispa-cel was generally well-tolerated, allowing for administration in the outpatient setting, the company added.</p><p>“We believe that with these results, Caribou has achieved what the field has long sought — strong evidence that an allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy can be on par with the efficacy and durability of autologous treatments and broaden access with a safety profile that allows for outpatient use,” said CEO Rachel Haurwitz.</p><p>Allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy is a type of "off-the-shelf" cancer treatment that uses T-cells from a healthy donor, rather than the patient's own cells, allowing immediate availability.
