Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. Like other cryptocurrencies, Ripple is built atop the idea of a distributed ledger network which requires various parties to participate in validating transactions, rather than any singular centralized authority. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. Honeywell (HON) may grab attention on Monday as the industrial giant’s stock neared the worrying “death cross” pattern, a key technical signal that indicates that further pain may be on the cards, amid sticky bearishness among retail traders.The “death cross” is a technical indicator that forms when a stock’s 50-day moving average falls below its 200-day moving average, which could drive negative sentiment surrounding the shares. The interface provides customers with insight into their plans, enables easy line additions, manages upgrades, and helps identify&nbsp;opportunities for savings.Over the last two years, Verizon has opened nearly 400 additional retail stores. Currently, 93% of Americans are within a half-hour drive of a Verizon store.In the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, Verizon’s revenue inched 1.5% higher year-on-year to $33.5 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $33.28 billion, as per Finchat data. Verizon’s AI-Powered Overhaul Of Customer Support Draws Retail Praise

Verizon said its AI-led revamp is a key element of its long-term strategy to boost customer satisfaction by improving engagement.

Verizon Communications Inc. ( VZ) has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for its $20 billion acquisition of Frontier Communications (FYBR).&nbsp;The <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://docs.fcc.gov/public/attachments/DOC-411464A1.pdf">approval</a> follows Verizon’s commitment to boost its broadband infrastructure spending and revise its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies to reflect the regulatory approach favored by the Trump administration.&nbsp;FCC Chair Brendan Carr supported the merger, calling it beneficial to the public.“By approving this deal, the FCC ensures that Americans will benefit from a series of good and commonsense wins. The transaction will unleash billions of dollars in new infrastructure builds in communities across the country—including rural America,” said Chair Brendan Carr.Verizon has agreed to roll back its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts in light of regulatory pressures.&nbsp;The company will take down its <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/BrendanCarrFCC/status/1923355671036035101?ref=broadbandbreakfast.com">DEI</a> website, remove related content from training programs, drop diversity hiring targets, and change plans that reward diversity metrics.&nbsp;Verizon had proposed to purchase Frontier in a $20 billion cash deal in September 2024.&nbsp;The deal, involving the country’s largest standalone fiber internet provider, will expand Verizon’s national fiber coverage and enhance its broadband and wireless service capabilities.&nbsp;It will also strengthen Verizon’s edge network to support emerging technologies such as AI and the Internet of Things.Verizon’s acquisition is expected to add 2.2 million Frontier fiber users across 25 states, expanding its fiber footprint to 25 million locations in 31 states and Washington, D.C., with plans to reach 2.8 million more by 2026.&nbsp;The deal is expected to yield $500 million in yearly cost savings. As part of the agreement, Verizon has committed to deploying fiber-optic internet access to at least one million new homes annually.“This investment will accelerate the transition away from old, copper line networks to modern, high-speed ones.
