After Donald Trump's election win in 2024, investors were convinced the EV giant would ride a wave of political tailwinds — helped, in no small part, by the extraordinary support CEO Elon Musk had thrown behind the Republican ticket. But things did not go as smoothly as expected.Musk spent an estimated $288 million to help elect Trump and other GOP candidates, according to a Washington Post analysis, making him the largest individual donor of the entire 2024 cycle. Confidence in Tesla soared.But that optimism evaporated almost as quickly as it formed. Soon after the election, Musk was pulled into the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a high-profile initiative aimed at slashing federal waste. For Tesla shareholders, the optics were alarming: Musk was spending long stretches in Washington rather than at the company's Austin headquarters, all while his increasingly contentious political commentary — including vocal support for far-right European parties — began weighing heavily on Tesla's global brand.Sales slid. Boycotts intensified. Protesters even torched vehicles. The stock followed suit, crashing from its all-time intraday high of $488.54 on Dec. 17 — in the euphoria immediately following Trump's victory — to $214.25 by April 7.Rattled by the reaction, Musk abruptly exited DOGE to refocus on Tesla, briefly calming markets. But stability didn't last. The White House's sweeping "One Big Beautiful" tax and spending bill delivered a decisive blow, effectively ending the Biden-era EV credits of up to $7,500 and piling on fresh pressure from Trump's aggressive tariff blitz. Musk blasted the bill, prompting a very public and very bitter feud with Trump — a development that only deepened investor anxiety.Still, Musk found a way to reignite optimism among his fanbase. He doubled down on Full Self-Driving upgrades, new Optimus demonstrations, and steady progress on Robotaxis, pushing a narrative that Tesla's next era — powered by autonomy, AI, and humanoid robots — would unlock massive long-term value.He also secured a historic trillion-dollar pay package, contingent on extremely ambitious milestones. The approval gave investors one critical reassurance: Musk, after months of distraction, would now be more committed to Tesla's future than ever before.<h2 class="st-heading-2">It’s Been A Bad 2025 For TSLA</h2>Even so, the stock spent the year whipsawing violently — deep in the red for months, clawing its way back into positive territory, and still on track for its weakest annual performance since 2022, when shares collapsed 65% as inflation-induced economic uncertainty tipped the market into bear territory.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/TSLA">&nbsp;Tesla’s stock</a> is up merely 12.7% this year, underperforming the<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/SPY">&nbsp;SPDR S&amp;P 500 ETF (SPY)</a>, which is up 17% year-to-date (YTD),&nbsp;and the worst performer among the “Magnificent Seven” list.<img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Tesla_revenue_png_fe5b098f33.webp" alt="Tesla revenue.png">Source: Koyfin<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why Did Tesla Stutter In 2025?</h2>Tesla’s revenue, which received a big boost in 2021 following the Model Y launch, began to slow down subsequently. Annual revenue nearly flatlined at around $97K in 2023 and 2024, and the trailing 12-month revenue for 2025 shows a 2.1% year-over-year decline.<img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Tesla_Revenue_Since_2019_png_a45160ff13.webp" alt="Tesla_Revenue_Since_2019.png">Source: Fiscal.aiThe revenue stagnation is a function of slack delivery numbers. Deliveries for the nine months this year totaled 1.22 million. The magic number for Tesla to resume YoY revenue growth is 568,917. In a note released Sunday, Morgan Stanley analyst Andrew Percoco downgraded Tesla stock to ‘Equal Weight’ from ‘Overweight’ but upped the price target to $425 from $410, The Fly reported. Percoco concedes that Tesla would become a market leader across autonomous mobility, renewable energy, and robotics, but he is uncomfortable with the valuation.Morgan Stanley now awaits a better entry point, given that the stock is trading at 30-times estimated 2030 EBITDA and there is potential downside to consensus estimates in the near term. The firm’s 2026 volume forecast for Tesla is now 13% below consensus, reflecting its more cautious outlook on the EV industry.The research firm also believes Tesla's "non-auto catalyst path" is already priced into the shares.According to the Future Funds’ Gary Black, the major catalyst for the stock now is the removal of safety monitors in all Robotaxis, which would signal an imminent scale-up. He noted that Musk has hinted that this could be accomplished in Austin by year-end.&nbsp;Of the 47 analysts covering the stock, 20 have ‘Buy’ or ‘Strong Buy’ ratings and 10 analysts have either ‘Sell’ or ‘Strong Sell’ ratings, while 17 remain on the sidelines, according to Koyfin. (TSLA) shares from an outside brokerage or institution into a user’s self-directed Robinhood account or a Robinhood IRA.The retail trading platform reported&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/robinhood-delivers-pretty-solid-q3-but-stock-falls-after-hours/cL2t9TRREb9">third-quarter results,</a> beating forecasts, after the close on Wednesday, buoyed by substantial transaction-based and net interest revenues. Specifically, equity trading revenue increased 132% year over year to $86 million, though it accounted for only a fraction of total revenue.While&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/HOOD">Robinhood stock</a> has soared over 280% year-to-date,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/TSLA">Tesla stock</a> is up a more modest 14.4%.<h3 class="st-heading-3">Robinhood’s Tesla Offer</h3>On Tuesday, Tenev ran a poll on the X platform to&nbsp;gauge public opinion on whether Robinhood should “do a match for people moving their $TSLA shares over.”&nbsp; The results of the poll, which has since concluded, showed that an overwhelming 83% asked for a 2% incentive to move over, 6% stated that merely 1% would be enough for them, and 11% expressed willingness to push their Tesla shares into a Robinhood account for free. The poll received responses from nearly 19,000 X users.&nbsp;<img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Screenshot_2025_11_05_at_11_35_13_PM_png_3145106ba4.webp" alt="Screenshot 2025-11-05 at 11.35.13 PM.png">Quoting the poll results, Tenev said, “You voted. We’re shipping. Get an uncapped 2% bonus on taxable and retirement transfers into Robinhood for portfolios with at least 1 TSLA whole share.” He also noted that the offer ends on Nov. 19 and is contingent on “terms and limitations.”Terms and conditions, as outlined in Robinhood’s Help Center, state that transfers to managed accounts are ineligible. The customer should have owned the shares intended to be transferred on or before November 3, the day preceding Robinhood’s announcement. The 2% bonus is calculated on the net transferred asset value of each Tesla-inclusive transfer that settles in the applicable account. The bonus will be credited two weeks after the settlement.Clarifying further, Tenev stated that the move was not a “recommendation of any investment or strategy” or a suggestion to transfer assets to the platform. “By participating, the customer represents and warrants that they beneficially held TSLA on or before Nov. 3, 2025, and the transfer should reflect the prior holding.” Rollovers are not eligible, he added.&nbsp;Tesla CEO Elon Musk commented on Tenev’s post with a “fire” emoji.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Why It’s Important</h2>Tenev’s move comes at a time when Tesla backers&nbsp;have pushed back against Charles Schwab (SCHW),&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/tesla-retail-investors-threaten-charles-schwab-exodus-over-votes-against-elon-musk-s-1-trillion-pay-plan/cL2FHDVR3C3">claiming</a> several of its brokerage ETFs voted against Tesla management’s proposals&nbsp;for Musk’s record pay package. Charles Schwab, however, clarified that it will <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/schwab-s-pro-musk-vote-fails-to-calm-tesla-retail-jitters-traders/cL2qTd3R36U">vote in favor of Musk’s 2025 CEO performance award.</a> The electric-vehicle (EV) maker’s shareholders will vote on the proposals at an annual meeting at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday.&nbsp;According to TipRanks, public companies and individual investors own about 45% of Tesla’s total outstanding shares. Nio posted a strong monthly sales performance in October, outpacing its major domestic peers. 

Stellantis NV (STLA) stock edged higher in Friday's early premarket session, defying signals pointing to a broader market sell-off, after the automaker struck a joint venture (JV) partnership with U.S.-listed Chinese robotaxi company Pony AI (PONY) to develop Level 4 autonomous vehicles for the European market.In a press statement, the companies said the collaboration, through Pony.ai's European division headquartered in Luxembourg, will integrate Pony.ai's autonomous driving technology with Stellantis' autonomous driving-ready platform. Through these partnerships, the companies plan to focus on light-commercial vehicles (LCVs) initially. Nio, Inc. (NIO) shares climbed over 2% in the early premarket trading on Wednesday after the Chinese electric-vehicle (EV) maker reported record monthly and quarterly deliveries.On Stocktwits,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/NIO">Nio’s stock</a> was among the top five trending equity tickers as of early Wednesday. That said, sentiment toward the stock was ‘neutral’ (51/100) early Wednesday, although improving from the ‘bearish’ mood seen the day before. Brand-wise breakup is as follows:<ul><li>Nio-branded premium EVs: 13,728 premium&nbsp;</li><li>Onvo-branded smart family EVs: 15,246&nbsp;</li><li>Firefly branded small, smart, high-end EVs: 5,775 vehicles</li></ul>&nbsp;Earlier in the day, Chinese peers XPeng (XPEV) and Li Auto (LI) also reported&nbsp;their delivery&nbsp;figures, with the former clocking 95% YoY and 10% sequential growth to 41,581 EVs. The latter’s September deliveries were at 33,951 units, marking a more modest 19% YoY climb.Nio delivered 87,071 vehicles in the third quarter, also a record and representing a 40.8% YoY increase. The performance, however, aligned with the low end of the guidance range of 87,000 to 91,000 units, issued in early September.Nio officially launched its flagship premium SUV, the all-new ES8, on September 20, with user deliveries starting shortly after. “Setting a new benchmark for the premium large three-row battery electric SUVs, the All-New ES8 offers users a refined, safe, and seamless experience on every journey towards a new horizon,” the company said.A bullish watcher on the Stocktwits platform lauded the deliveries report as “big news.” “The road ahead?
