Researchers matched transactions ranging between $2,200 and $3,500 with the listed prices of drones and related components,<h2 class="st-heading-2">Intermediaries Add Layers To Procurement Chains</h2>Besides Russia, the report pointed to Iran-linked networks using crypto in procurement and payment flows, reflecting a broader shift among sanctioned actors toward alternative financial rails for cross-border transactions.Chainalysis also highlighted indirect channels. Electronics and dual-use component vendors selling through third-party platforms such as Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce platform, accepted crypto payments, allowing buyers to buy drone parts while hiding their identities. These transactions often moved through over-the-counter brokers and exchanges, adding layers of complexity while still leaving an on-chain footprint. But blockchain data has made this transparent.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Stablecoins Gain Traction In Real-World Payments</h2>The report also highlighted the growing role of stablecoins in such transactions, reflecting their utility for pricing and settling real-world purchases. While the overall scale remains small, the use of crypto in drone procurement shows its expanding role beyond trading and into real-world commerce, including areas with heightened regulatory and geopolitical sensitivity.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> was around $66,929, down nearly 1% in the last 24 hours. A new report highlights that digital assets are being used to pay for defense-related equipment amid geopolitical tensions. 


<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>The Fed faces a policy trap, including Debt, Oil, Growth, and Employment, making it difficult to fight inflation.</li><li>Inflation is being driven by supply-side pressures, reducing the effectiveness of aggressive rate hikes.</li><li>Visser, an investor with 30 years of experience, said Bitcoin could benefit as investors look for alternatives amid rising debt and policy constraints.</li></ul>With U.S. debt nearing $39 trillion and rate hikes losing effectiveness against supply-driven inflation, one market veteran sees Bitcoin (BTC) benefiting from policy constraints.&nbsp;Jordi Visser, a veteran market analyst, believes Bitcoin could become one of the most important assets during the next major economic crisis.&nbsp;He called the current situation at the Federal Reserve a "policy trap" made up of Debt, Oil, Growth, and Employment, or D.O.G.E. 2.0.Visser, a former managing director at Morgan Stanley and the founding managing partner of Anchor Point Asset Management,&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://visserlabs.substack.com/p/doge-20-debt-oil-growth-employment">wrote</a> in a Substack essay on Monday that the market is no longer dealing with inflation alone, but a mix of supply-driven price pressures, slowing growth, and weakening labor conditions that have not been seen before.Visser, who has over 30 years of experience, said that the combination made it difficult for the Fed to respond as it did in past periods of high inflation. Higher interest rates might lower demand, but they cannot resolve supply disruptions such as energy constraints or semiconductor shortages. The U.S. economy is much more leveraged now, making prolonged monetary tightening harder to sustain, he added.<h2 class="st-heading-2">$39 Trillion Debt Limits The Fed’s Room To Maneuver</h2>According to Visser, debt is the main structural problem. U.S. federal debt has risen to around $39 trillion, significantly higher as a share of GDP than during the 1970s inflation era. He thinks that the burden extends beyond government finances to asset markets as well, since high stock market valuations make it even harder to fight inflation without causing significant damage.Additionally, he said the labor backdrop is weaker than in previous inflation cycles, with slower hiring and softer wage growth replacing the earlier risk of an overheated job market.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Making The Case For Bitcoin</h2>Visser said Bitcoin is becoming more important as the financial system grows more dependent on government intervention and liquidity support during crises. He said Bitcoin was created in response to the 2008 financial crisis and is meant to be used when people lose faith in traditional monetary policy. He says that Bitcoin doesn't need hyperinflation to prove its worth.&nbsp;Instead, Visser said Bitcoin could benefit in environments where markets expect policy easing and seek to avoid economic downturns. Trump Goes All-In On Bitcoin, Vows US Will Dominate Crypto And AI 

After passing the GENIUS Act last year to establish a regulatory framework for stablecoins, President Donald Trump said that America was the world's financial capital. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Insider selling surged to $304 million versus $12 million in buys as US equities fell, with some analysts pointing to potential capital rotation toward Bitcoin.</li><li>Bitcoin traded near $66,000 with an extremely ‘bearish’ zone on Stocktwits over the past day.</li><li>Goldman Sachs previously said that Bitcoin may be near a cycle bottom but warned that low trading volume could pressure prices.</li></ul>During the recent downturn in the market, corporate insiders significantly increased their stock sales, prompting concerns throughout the equities landscape.&nbsp;From Sunday through Saturday, there were 62 sell transactions amounting to $304 million, in stark contrast to only $12 million in purchases, according to OpenInsider.&nbsp;Significant transactions were noted as Broadcom (AVGO) director Henry Samueli divested approximately $250 million in shares. Meanwhile, Silver Lake affiliates decreased their holdings in Dell (DELL) and also executed sales in Nvidia (NVDA) and Diamondback Energy (FANG). Bitcoin recently pulled back toward $60,000, with the market still showing signs of instability.However, Goldman Sachs cautioned that trading volume remains low and could decline further in the coming months, potentially putting continued pressure on prices. Historically, low-liquidity periods in crypto have lasted around three months and tend to result in heightened volatility, making sustained rebounds more difficult.The bank also noted that if volumes continue to fall, crypto-related companies could see revenue decline by about 2% and profits by roughly 4% by 2026. Roughly $17 billion worth of digital asset options, including approximately $14.5 billion in Bitcoin, expired on crypto derivatives exchange Deribit. Options are contracts that give traders the right to buy or sell Bitcoin at a set price on a specific date. When contracts of this size expire, traders adjust or close their positions, which can push prices sharply in either direction.Despite the expiry, Bitcoin's open interest on Deribit rose 2.38%,indicating that new positions were opened to replace those that expired.The expiry compounded an already pressured market. Approximately $300 million in long positions, bets that Bitcoin's price would rise, were liquidated over 24 hours, compared to only $50 million on the other side, according to market data. Nationally, electricity prices have also increased by&nbsp;7% due to the rise of AI data centers and pressure on electric grids, Fox News&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/americans-hit-soaring-electricity-bills-price-hikes-outpace-inflation-nationwide">reported</a> last month.&nbsp;Electricity prices rose from 12.82 cents per kilowatt-hour to 13.72 cents, which can make it more expensive for mining companies to operate.&nbsp; When fewer miners participate, Bitcoin's protocol automatically lowers the difficulty, which helps maintain the timing of block production.
