Latest&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/dow-falls-report-2200-marines-arrive-middle-east-trump-deadline-day/cZ3nkXcRI1b">reports</a> suggest that a huge U.S. Marine troop is expected to reach the Middle East the same day as Trump’s Iran deadline.Analysts say oil prices remain a key variable for Bitcoin, as elevated energy costs feed into inflation expectations and influence the outlook for monetary policy.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Bitcoin’s Price Depends On Fed Policy&nbsp;</h2>Additionally, last week the Federal Reserve&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.federalreserve.gov/monetarypolicy/fomcprojtabl20260318.htm">held</a> rates at 3.50% to 3.75%, with 14 out of 19 participants projecting zero or one cut through 2026. Nationally, electricity prices have also increased by&nbsp;7% due to the rise of AI data centers and pressure on electric grids, Fox News&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/americans-hit-soaring-electricity-bills-price-hikes-outpace-inflation-nationwide">reported</a> last month.&nbsp;Electricity prices rose from 12.82 cents per kilowatt-hour to 13.72 cents, which can make it more expensive for mining companies to operate.&nbsp; When fewer miners participate, Bitcoin's protocol automatically lowers the difficulty, which helps maintain the timing of block production. Oil Shock From Middle East Tensions Is Squeezing Bitcoin Miners, Raising Risks For Selling

Amidst rising tensions between the US and the Middle East, energy costs rose, and Bitcoin traded near the $ 68,000 level. 

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>On Saturday, macro analyst Garett Jin said that the U.S. debt, now over $39 trillion and rising interest costs, signaled a structural "plateau," making a debt-driven feedback loop more likely.</li><li>He said that geopolitical shocks, such as a disruption in Hormuz, could worsen inflation and deficits.</li><li>Jin said that the dollar would slowly lose value because people were losing faith in it and moving their money into gold and assets like Bitcoin.</li></ul>As concerns grow about the long-term viability of U.S. government debt, global capital flows, and the dollar's future position in the international financial system, macro investors are paying increasing attention.Garett Jin, a macro researcher known as a "crypto whale" who shorted Bitcoin (BTC) before the October&nbsp;black swan event last year, said in a Substack article on Saturday that the U.S. may be entering a fundamentally distinct phase of the debt cycle.&nbsp;<figure class="image"><a class="st-link-external" href="https://x.com/KobeissiLetter/status/2035364679598690471" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"><img src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Screenshot_2026_03_21_at_1_33_55_PM_png_2aec3b5c78.webp" alt="Screenshot 2026-03-21 at 1.33.55 PM.png" width="780" height="1178"></a><figcaption>US debt reaches $39 trillion. Jin said that the U.S. dollar remains America's most important power but cautioned that this monetary supremacy is now under more structural threat.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Compounding Interest&nbsp;</h2>He pointed out that the rate at which debt is growing is speeding up and is being driven more and more by structural expenditures and rising interest costs than by productive investment. Interest payments alone are approaching $1 trillion a year and are expected to exceed $2 trillion in the next ten years.Jin called this situation a "compound interest problem," where rates rise and debt increases. He <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/ray-dalio-says-bitcoin-market-small-next-to-gold-btc-price-climbs-to-69000/cZd9hEKRI5W">cited Ray Dalio's idea</a> of a "debt death spiral," in which higher interest rates, more borrowing, and less demand for government debt combine to drive a downward spiral.Jin argued that a disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could worsen macroeconomic risks by raising oil prices and causing inflation, thereby limiting the Federal Reserve's ability to adjust its policies. He added that this would worsen fiscal deficits and that the Treasury would have to issue more bonds, just as demand from other countries drops. Jin said that big economies are holding less U.S. debt and are more cautious after Russia's reserves were blocked.&nbsp;He also points out early signs of weakness in the petrodollar system, which might mean these changes will gradually erode the dollar's supremacy over time rather than cause an abrupt replacement.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Death Of The Dollar?</h2>According to Jin, the short-term "fear flows" into the dollar are driving the markets right now. However, over time, structural shifts such as a declining reserve share and changing trade settlement patterns might affect how capital is allocated worldwide.Jin said that the collapse of reserve currencies is not caused by a single alternative currency, but by a loss of “trust.” He said that central banks are increasing their holdings of gold and other currencies, and that new payment systems are being built on top of the current dollar infrastructure– signalling Bitcoin.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin</a> was trading at $70,230, almost flat in the last 24 hours. Bitcoin’s near-term direction is expected to depend on signals from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, according to analysts.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>On-chain data showed the Royal Government of Bhutan transferred 973 Bitcoin valued at approximately $72.32 million on Wednesday.</li><li>The transfer spanned 19 hours and involved multiple wallets, with the largest transaction involving about $44.44 million.</li><li>This outflow represented one of the largest from Bhutan-linked wallets in recent months, in contrast to a trend of modest inflows over the past year.</li></ul>The Royal Government of Bhutan on Wednesday sent 973 Bitcoin (BTC), which was worth about $72.32 million, to multiple wallets within a span of 19 hours.Arkham Intelligence&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://intel.arkm.com/explorer/entity/druk-holding-investments">data</a> showed that the largest transaction moved 595.8 BTC, worth around $44.44 million, to two different wallets. There were other transfers, including 20.5 BTC, worth around $1.52 million, to QCP Capital, a crypto trading firm. It was first brought to&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/OnchainLens/status/2034112266363379995?s=20">notice</a> by OnChain Lens.The shift is among the largest outflows from Bhutan-linked wallets in the past several months, following a general trend of modest inflows over the past year. Bhutan is thought to have between $600 million and $1.3 billion worth of Bitcoin, which may be as much as 30% to 40% of the country's GDP at its highest value.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Bhutan Steps In To Crypto</h2>Bhutan's initial foray into cryptocurrency was not a retail-acceptance or legal-tender effort but was a state-directed mining plan centered on surplus hydropower. DHI, the business arm of the Royal Government of Bhutan, has been identified as the body behind the country's Bitcoin mining operations, with further public comments linking the commencement of that activity to 2019-2020. Later, it expanded materially through a&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.dhi.bt/newsroom/news/69455944151590a78f28ad59?">formal partnership</a> with Bitdeer (BTDR).By September 2024, Arkham reports indicate that it had identified Bhutan as holding just over 13,000 BTC, with the accumulation resulting from government-funded mining activities rather than seizures.&nbsp;At the time of writing,&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin</a> was trading at $71,311.47, down over 4% in the last 24 hours.
