The North America Operation segment consists of rebar, bars, wire rod, and light and heavy structural shapes. The South Africa Operation segment covers rebar, bars, and drawn products. The Special Steels Operation segment comprises of stainless steel, round, square and flat bars, and wire rod. The company was founded by João Gerdau and Hugo Gerdau on January 16, 1901 and is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
