Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

CoreWeave (CRWV), a cloud infrastructure provider backed by Nvidia (NVDA), announced on Monday that it will offer $1.5 billion in aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes due 2031 in a private placement.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/CRWV">CoreWeave’s stock</a> edged&nbsp;1.4%&nbsp;higher in pre-market trade.&nbsp;However, on Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the company dipped to ‘bullish’ from ‘extremely bullish’ a day ago amid ‘high’ levels of chatter.The stock was also buoyed by a price target hike from Barclays ahead of second-quarter (Q2) tech earnings, which are set to kick off this week. The brokerage raised its price target on the shares from $140 to $100, maintaining an ‘Equal Weight’ rating on Monday, as per TheFly.&nbsp;Barclays cited stronger channel checks in May and June, following the initial uncertainty seen in April, and stated that it expects strong Q2 earnings results and possible guidance raises.&nbsp;The company said the notes would be guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by certain wholly owned subsidiaries of CoreWeave.&nbsp;It added that the notes would be offered only to qualified institutional buyers under Rule 144A or to non–U.S. persons under Regulation S.&nbsp;CoreWeave intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the repayment of outstanding debt and covering fees and expenses related to the offering.&nbsp;It&nbsp;has not yet disclosed the interest rate or pricing details of the notes.The debt sale comes as Coreweave expands its footprint in AI infrastructure amid surging demand for GPU-powered cloud services.&nbsp;CoreWeave’s stock has more than quadrupled since its initial public offering (IPO) in March, earlier this year.
