Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency created by Charlie Lee. It was created based on the Bitcoin protocol but differs in terms of the hashing algorithm used. Litecoin uses the memory intensive Scrypt proof of work mining algorithm. Scrypt allows consumer-grade hardware such as GPU to mine those coins.  Why Litecoin? Litecoin is a cryptocurrency that has evolved from Bitcoin after its own popularity in the industry, this alternative, or ‘altcoin’ has emerged to allow investors to diversify their digital currency package, according to Investopedia. Litecoin is one of the most prominent altcoins and was created by former Google employee and Director of Engineering at Coinbase, Charlie Lee. Litecoin was the first to alter Bitcoin and the most significant difference is that it takes 2.5 minutes for Litecoin to generate a block, or transaction, in comparison to Bitcoin's 10 minutes.  ‘While this matters little to traders, miners who use hardware to run Bitcoin's network cannot switch over to Litecoin. This keeps bigger mining conglomerates away from Litecoin because they cannot easily optimize their profits by swapping to another coin, contributing to a more decentralized experience. Litecoin also has bigger blocks, and more coins in circulation, making it more affordable and swift when transacting,’ Investopedia explained.  As explained above, Litecoin can transact a lot faster than Bitcoin, but there are also a number of other characteristics that investors need to know before trading. Litecoin can handle higher volumes of transactions because of the capability of transacting faster and if Bitcoin attempted to transact on the scale of its altcoin, a code update would be needed. However, Litecoin’s blocks would be larger, but with more ‘orphaned blocks'. The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks - this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.  Litecoin Technical Details: The transaction confirmation time taken for Litecoin is about 2.5 minutes on average (as compared to Bitcoin's 10 minutes). The Litecoin network is scheduled to cap at 84 million currency units.   Litecoin has inspired many other popular alternative currencies (eg. Dogecoin) because of its Scrypt hashing algorithm in order to prevent ASIC miners from mining those coins. However it is said that by the end of this year, Scrypt ASIC will enter the mass market.

Shares of companies with cryptocurrency on their balance sheets, such as Tom Lee’s Bitmine Immersion (BMNR) and Michael Saylor-backed Strategy (MSTR), jumped in pre-market trade on Wednesday as Bitcoin (BTC) kicked off October by rebounding to over $116,000, lifting altcoins along with it.&nbsp;At the time of writing, BTC, BMNR, XRP, ETH, and MSTR were among the top trending tickers on Stocktwits.According to data from Coinglass, the cryptocurrency market saw around $623 million in liquidations over the past 24 hours. Most of the liquidations originated from short bets, where traders wagered that the price of cryptocurrencies would fall, totaling around $400 million. Long liquidations were around $223 million. Ethereum (ETH) experienced the largest liquidations of $159 million, followed by Bitcoin at $157 million.Bitcoin’s<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/BTC.X"> price</a> was trading at around $116,300 at the time of writing, up 3.1% in the last 24 hours. The company announced that its Bitcoin treasury program will be financed through the sale of Montana data center assets and an at-the-market equity offering. 

Shares of Hyperscale Data (GPUS) surged more than 450% in midday trading Monday after the company reported preliminary first-quarter revenue above $25 million and issued a bullish outlook for the year.The stock jumped from $3.17 at the open to an intraday high of $8.48, marking the largest one-day percentage gain in its nearly&nbsp;30-year history.Hyperscale Data, a micro-cap firm undergoing a strategic overhaul, now expects full-year 2025 revenue to come between $115 million and $125 million.&nbsp;CEO William B. Horne said the year began with growth across several core business segments.&nbsp;While the company cited year-over-year gains at subsidiaries, including Ault Global Real Estate Equities, Circle 8 Crane Services, and TurnOnGreen, it did not disclose detailed financial figures for each.The company also reported a non-recurring gain of approximately $9.7 million in the quarter, driven by the deconsolidation of Avalanche International.Hyperscale is amid a pivot toward artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC).&nbsp;The company is divesting non-core businesses and repurposing its Michigan facility into an AI-focused data center.&nbsp;It expects to complete the spin-off of Ault Capital Group by&nbsp;Dec. 31, 2025. Hyperscale Data Stock On Track For Biggest One-Day Gain In 30-Year History After Preliminary Q1 Revenue Tops $25M

Shares of Hyperscale Data (GPUS) fell more than 2% in midday trading Friday, breaking a three-day rally, despite the company announcing the successful installation of Nvidia GPUs for a high-performance computing (HPC) customer.&nbsp;The decline came amid broader market weakness as analysts flagged concerns over 'stagflation.'“This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s strategic transformation of its Michigan data center into a cutting-edge artificial intelligence and high-performance computing facility,” Hyperscale Data said in a statement.According to the company, the initial deployment of Nvidia GPUs is part of a broader effort to expand infrastructure that supports the increasing computational demands of enterprise and cloud-native applications and shift away from dependency on Bitcoin (BTC) mining revenue.&nbsp;Hyperscale’s Michigan data center currently operates with approximately 28 megawatts (MW) of power.In February, Hyperscale Data’s&nbsp;wholly-owned subsidiary, Alliance Cloud Services (ACS), reached an agreement in principle with a local natural gas utility to expand energy capacity for the Michigan data center by an additional 40 megawatts.&nbsp;Once finalized, this expansion would increase ACS's power capacity from approximately 30&nbsp;MW to about 340&nbsp;MW within 18 months. The company is also exploring options to further expand energy capabilities by an additional 85&nbsp;MW.“The first successful installation of these servers for our customer is a large step in the right direction for the company and its transition to a pure-play data center business,” said CEO William B.
