He has predicted Bitcoin’s death at least 22 times overall, according to the tracker. Others listed include Steve Hanke, Warren Buffett, Nouriel Roubini, and JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon.According to trackers like CryptoPotato, Schiff has issued more than 200 bearish calls since 2011. His earliest public warning dates back to June that year, when he criticized Bitcoin for lacking intrinsic value and called it a potential fad that could become worthless on his radio show.His main argument for the drawdown in Bitcoin’s price since its record high of over $126,000 in October is that "more hype, leverage, and institutional ownership" make a crash worse.However, other analysts have argued that institutional ownership also means deeper liquidity, regulated custody, and a significantly higher floor of structural demand that didn't exist during the crypto crashes of 2018 and 2022.&nbsp;Bernstein and Standard Chartered have&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/ethereum-seen-at-40-000-by-2030-bitcoin-to-hit-new-high-in-2026/cmUXRE9R440">maintained</a> their price target of $150,000 for Bitcoin by year-end, even amid the current dip in cryptocurrency markets. 'Sell Bitcoin Now' – Crypto Critic Peter Schiff Warns Of BTC's Price Falling To $20,000

In a post on X, Peter Schiff stated that if Bitcoin’s price dips below $50,000, it is “highly likely” to keep falling until it hits $20,000.

Instead, they appear to be adding at lower prices, which is pushing the realized price lower over time.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Solana Outpaces Bitcoin Gains</h2><a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/solana">Solana (SOL)</a> led gains among crypto majors, up 1.9% in the last 24 hours to $83. CoinGlass data showed around $160 million in liquidations, with long bets accounting for around $100 million of the total.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Crypto Policy Moves Forward, But Slowly</h2>In Washington, policy discussions at the White House on a crypto market structure bill made incremental progress, but no final deal has been reached yet. Strain in the private credit markets, with Blue Owl announcing it has&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/arthur-hayes-tells-jerome-powell-to-warm-up-printer-after-blue-owl-freezes-redemptions/cZRjummR4wp">halted redemptions</a> from its inaugural retail fund, and geopolitical concerns over U.S. military action against Iran continue to weigh on risk assets.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Where Is The Crypto Market Headed Next?</h2>Analysts at CryptoQuant said retail participation has effectively dried up. “Retail just left the building,” one of the analysts&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://cryptoquant.com/insights/quicktake/6996cdd5c876a02133a049fc-Retail-just-left-the-building">wrote</a>. “Retail is fully disengaged. No accumulation. No FOMO.”&nbsp;CryptoQuant noted that retail capitulation at this scale has historically appeared during late-stage corrections, though it does not necessarily signal an immediate rebound. It added that it could be a long wait, since retail investors often stay sidelined longer than expected.Analysts at Glassnode&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/glassnode/status/2024632805070623140?s=20">said</a> the 90-day simple moving average of the change in open interest across major crypto assets has remained negative since October 2025.
