The firm noted that U.S. equities typically receive a boost between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but Bitcoin has experienced more uneven results over the same period.“Bitcoin’s best fourth quarters happen only when a clear catalyst is present,” 10x Research said in an emailed note. “While seasonality alone would have justified a bullish default stance, we flagged in September that we could not identify any catalyst strong enough to support such a view in 2025.”<h2 class="st-heading-2">Altcoins Mixed</h2>Cardano (ADA) and Ripple’s XRP (XRP) were in the red alongside Bitcoin.&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/cardano">ADA’s price</a> edged 0.2% lower over the last 24hours, while&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/ripple">XRP’s price</a> fell 1.3% – leading losses among the major tokens. Bitcoin, XRP, ADA Struggle Ahead Of Thanksgiving – Analyst Warns There’s No Clear Catalyst For Q4

10x Research warned that no strong catalyst has emerged for Bitcoin in 2025, making a confident bullish stance difficult.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Amid weakness in Bitcoin prices, Texas became the first state to buy Bitcoin, investing $5 million in the digital asset on Nov. 20.</li><li>U.S. equity markets advanced on Tuesday after multiple economic data points suggested inflation might be cooling.</li><li>According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, traders have overwhelmingly priced in a rate cut in the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting on December 9 and 10.</li></ul>Bitcoin's price remained above $87,000 in early trading on Wednesday after tepid U.S. economic data bolstered the chances of another rate cut by the Federal Reserve in December.The apex cryptocurrency rose 0.4% to $87,070.29 at the time of writing, according to CoinMarketCap data, while Ethereum was up 1.3% to $2,911.95 and BNB gained 1% to $856. Among other tokens, Solana gained 1%, and Dogecoin rose 1.9%. XRP was down 0.2%, but it is among the handful of coins up on a weekly basis amid multiple ETF launches.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Fed Rate Cut Odds Rise, But Likely Priced In</h2>U.S. equity markets advanced on Tuesday after multiple economic data points suggested inflation might be cooling. The Department of Commerce on Tuesday also released the September retail sales report, showing a modest increase. The delayed report showed that retail purchases, not adjusted for inflation, rose 0.2% following a 0.6% increase in August. Excluding cars and gas, retail sales edged up by just 0.1%. A Dow Jones estimate forecast a 0.3% increase for the month.The Producer Price Index (PPI) for September rose 0.3% from a month earlier, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The PPI report, also delayed, showed that the index rose 2.7% over the 12 months ended September, compared with a Dow Jones estimate of 2.8%, as cited by MarketWatch. According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, traders have overwhelmingly priced in a rate cut in the next Federal Open Market Committee meeting on December 9 and 10.Analysts believe that Bitcoin is still holding a key support zone. “So far, we're holding a crucial level on Bitcoin, which is the $86K zone. I preferably want to see that hold, in which we're able to be getting an attack to the $90K region. If the monthly closes north of the $90K zone, then this was the low,” said investor Michael Van De Poppe.<h2 class="st-heading-2">What Are Stocktwits Users Thinking?</h2>Retail sentiment on Stocktwits about <a href="https://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin</a> was in the ‘bearish’ territory compared with ‘neutral’ a day ago.However, some traders were still optimistic about a swift rebound. “I believe we go above 200k in 2026, there will be a few more rate cuts, and hopefully the clarity act gets signed, Jerome Powell resigns, and wars are coming to an end,” one user wrote.<stembedurl>https://stocktwits.com/CKBNERVOSNETWORK/message/637479032</stembedurl><h2 class="st-heading-2">Texas Buys The Dip</h2>Amid weakness in Bitcoin prices, Texas became the first state to buy Bitcoin, investing $5 million in the digital asset on Nov. 20, according to Lee Bratcher, President of the Texas Blockchain Council. Bratcher reportedly said that the Texas government will eventually “self-custody Bitcoin,” but as it finishes confirming the process, the initial $5 million “allocation was made with BlackRock's IBIT ETF.”The Lone Star state announced its decision to create a cryptocurrency reserve in June. However, it could not be confirmed if this move was in tandem with the decision to hold a digital asset treasury. The June bill proposed that assets with a market capitalization exceeding $500 billion be eligible for inclusion in the reserve, a condition satisfied by Bitcoin but not by BlackRock’s IBIT, as per a Cointelegraph report.In recent times, Abu Dhabi’s sovereign wealth fund and Harvard University’s investment arm have also added IBIT to their holding. "Pretty sure that's the only ETF to ever be owned by all three. Bitcoin Steadies Near $87,000 As Traders Price In Fed Easing — Texas Buys The Dip

Strategy now trades at a discount to the value of its Bitcoin holdings.<h2 class="st-heading-2">JPMorgan’s Warning Weighs</h2>Last week, JPMorgan analysts cautioned that the stock faces risk if MSCI decides to exclude digital asset treasury companies from its various indexes. The warnings came as the popular investment research firm MSCI, formerly known as Morgan Stanley Capital International, was set to decide whether to remove digital asset treasury companies from its indexes. A removal could cause a selloff with funds tracking the indexes, reducing their exposure to the Strategy.JPMorgan estimated Strategy's shares could face roughly $2.8 billion in forced selling if it's dropped from MSCI indexes such as MSCI USA and MSCI World — and as much as $8.8 billion if other index providers like Russell follow suit.The cautious tone added further pressure to the firm, which is the biggest corporate holder of Bitcoin. The apex cryptocurrency has fallen over 24% over the past month, just after hitting an all-time high of over $126,000, amid profit-taking, a large liquidation event in October, and concerns over the Federal Reserve’s interest rate policy.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Saylor On Defiant Mood</h2>Michael Saylor, the chair of Strategy who played a key role in pioneering the concept of digital asset treasuries in 2020, has doubled down on Strategy’s bet, posting that he “won’t back down” on X last week. Later, in an interview with CoinDesk, he labeled the crypto market's volatility “vitality” and dubbed the recent drop “Satoshi’s gift to the faithful,” a reference to the mysterious creator of the biggest cryptocurrency.However, the company did not buy any Bitcoin last week, after a six-week streak of continuous buying. Among other tokens, Dogecoin rose 2.5%, Solana gained 4.4%, and XRP rose over 7.5%, amid several new ETF listings.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Fed’s Daly Concerned About Labor Market</h2>According to a Wall Street Journal <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.wsj.com/economy/central-banking/feds-daly-backs-december-rate-cut-citing-vulnerable-labor-market-07a497b6">report</a>, Daly backed the idea of a further rate cut at the next Fed policy meeting on December 9-10, as she felt a labor market deterioration would be harder to manage and that an uptick in inflation would be more likely.“On the labor market, I don’t feel as confident we can get ahead of it,” she reportedly said.“It’s vulnerable enough now that the risk is it’ll have a nonlinear change.” She added that the inflation spike is lower risk, given that tariff-driven cost increases have been more muted than anticipated earlier this year. While Daly does not have voting powers on policymaking, her views have rarely contradicted those of Fed Chair Jerome Powell.According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, more than 81% traders have priced in a rate cut at the upcoming Federal Open Market Committee meeting. However, Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas stated that it might not necessarily mean that investors are moving away from IBIT.“Short interest has plummeted. The warnings came as the popular investment research firm MSCI, formerly known as Morgan Stanley Capital International, was set to decide whether to remove digital asset treasury companies from its indexes. A removal could cause a selloff with funds tracking the indexes, reducing their exposure to the Strategy.JPMorgan estimated Strategy's shares could face roughly $2.8 billion in forced selling if it's dropped from MSCI indexes such as MSCI USA and MSCI World — and as much as $8.8 billion if other index providers like Russell follow suit.However, Saylor has been in a defiant mood and doubled down on Strategy’s bet, posting that he “won’t back down” on X. Last week, the firm acquired 8,178 Bitcoin for $835.6 million, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 649,870.“Strategy is not a fund, not a trust, and not a holding company. We’re a publicly traded operating company with a $500 million software business and a unique treasury strategy that uses Bitcoin (BTC) as productive capital,” Saylor wrote on X on Friday.Later, in an interview with CoinDesk, he labeled the crypto market's volatility “vitality” and dubbed the recent drop “Satoshi’s gift to the faithful,” a reference to the mysterious creator of the biggest cryptocurrency.<h2 class="st-heading-2">JPMorgan Boycott Calls Grow Amid Crypto Enthusiasts</h2>Amid the uncertainty, cryptocurrency traders began calling for a boycott of JPMorgan &amp; Chase, the biggest U.S. bank, following its publication of a research note that highlighted concerns about MSCI's exclusion. &nbsp;“I just pulled $20M from Chase and suing them for credit card malfeasance,” real estate investor and Bitcoin advocate Grant Cardone said in a post on X.“Legacy banks want a war with #Bitcoin and still expect your deposits. Leave them behind,” posted Truth for the Commoner, a Bitcoin-focused media company with nearly 90,000 followers on X.JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon, along with many on Wall Street, has previously expressed apprehension about adopting cryptocurrencies. Dimon called them a “fraud” back in 2017. Their stance has changed notably in recent times.Last month, a report said that the bank is considering allowing clients to use Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) as collateral for loans by the end of the year. The bank already allows crypto-linked exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to be pledged as collateral. Advanced Micro Devices (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/AMD">AMD</a>) slipped 4.6% with retail sentiment in the ‘bearish’ zone, while Palantir Technology (<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/PLTR">PLTR</a>) dropped more than 5%.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Arthur Hayes Predicts Bitcoin Price Could Hit $500,000</h2>In&nbsp;a <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1YqKDNwemkEJV">broadcast</a> on X earlier this week, Hayes predicted that&nbsp;<a href="http://stocktwits.com/coins/bitcoin">Bitcoin’s price</a> could hit $500,000 in 2026 and that the primary catalyst would be quantitative easing by the Federal Reserve. However, Hayes also forecast that Bitcoin would first dip as low as $80,000 to $85,000 before staging any kind of recovery.“Bitcoin is realigning with where the liquidity situation is,” he explained. He added that Bitcoin’s sell-off serves as a warning of what may be in store for U.S. equities.“I think the Nasdaq and S&amp;P 500 are going to fall quite markedly,” Hayes said. “The 10-year yield is going to rise, and this is going to present a situation where it will hopefully accelerate the resumption of money printing by the Fed and the Treasury.”He explained that if the stock market dipped further, the Fed would have to step in to help it rise back up with quantitative easing because a stock market in the red impacts tax revenue for the government, which in turn, affects the larger U.S. economy.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">Don’t Worry About ETF Outflows</h2>Hayes shrugged off concerns that ETF outflows were a worrying indicator for Bitcoin’s future performance. “These are not people who care about Bitcoin per se, these are people putting on a trade,” he said.&nbsp;U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net monthly outflows&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-etfs-hit-record-outflows-average-investor-now-in-the-red/cLPMoktREOm">reach a record</a> $3.79 billion in November, following nearly $1 billion in net withdrawals on Wednesday alone.
