Polestar Announces $200M Funding From Geely Chairman’s PSD Investments: Retail Sees Profitability ‘Very Soon’

Swedish EV maker Polestar (PSNY) is reportedly eyeing starting deliveries of its cars in France this year.Stephane Le Guevel, managing director of Polestar France, <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/polestar-restarts-market-expansion-with-france-2025-06-11/">told</a> Reuters that the EV maker is looking to initiate deliveries in France to make it one of its three main European markets, along with Britain and Sweden.Polestar last launched in new markets in 2022.Guevel told Reuters that the company is looking to concentrate in France this year and “restart the tempo” in 2026. Polestar Reports Narrower Q1 Losses, Significant Jump In Sales: Retail Turns Bullish

Polestar (PSNY) is recalling 27,816 vehicles in the U.S., citing issues with rear camera image display, U.S. auto safety regulator National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Friday.The regulator <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2025/RCAK-25V280-2393.pdf">said</a> the rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is in reverse, posing risks of a crash. Customers may experience a “Camera is temporarily unavailable” message instead of the rear view when the gear selector is in reverse.As for a fix, the company’s dealers will release an additional software update, free of cost to the customer.The recall population includes model year 2021-2025 Polestar 2 liftback vehicles manufactured between July 2020 and November 2024. EV maker Polestar (PSNY) was in the spotlight on Thursday after the company <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://investors.polestar.com/news-releases/news-release-details/polestar-q1-retail-sales-grew-76-compared-same-quarter-last-year">said</a> its retail sales volume in the first quarter rose 76% compared to the corresponding quarter last year.The Swedish company reported retail sales of an estimated 12,304 units, driven by a growing uptake of newer models and a transition to an active-selling model.Polestar’s new CEO Michael Lohscheller said the company is on “the right track and doing the right things.” Lohscheller joined Polestar as its chief executive in October, succeeding Thomas Ingenlath.“With a more active selling model, more retail partners and attractive cars, we are delivering results. At the same time, we are monitoring closely and assessing the volatile geopolitical environment and will adapt as needed,” Lohscheller said.The company currently manufactures cars in the U.S. and China. Polestar Q1 Sales Jump 76% On Newer Models: Retail Sentiment Brightens

ZIM Integrated Shipping (ZIM) stock rose 2.3% on Monday after it signed long-term charter agreements for ten liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual fuel container vessels for $2.3 billion.The container vessels, each with a capacity of 11,500 twenty-foot equivalent containers, will be built at Zhoushan Changhong Shipyard in China. Delivery is expected between 2027 and 2028.The company said seven of the vessels would be chartered to ZIM by Containers Ventures Holdings Inc., an affiliate of the TMS Group, and three by a shipping firm affiliated with Kenon Holdings, Ltd., which was ZIM's largest shareholder until the end of 2024.“Operating LNG capacity has proved commercially advantageous for ZIM, and we anticipate increased demand for environmentally friendly shipping options, making access to LNG capacity even more beneficial in the future," CEO Eli Glickman said.Companies worldwide are attempting to curtail emissions to comply with their net-zero goals.
