Since every allocation tracks the Migrated Mining Rewards of the community, the Effective Total Supply can be calculated by dividing the current Migrated Mining Rewards of Pi on the Mainnet blockchain by 65%. The other allocations within the Effective Total Supply can then be calculated based on the same proportions as the Maximum Supply, e.g. at most 10% of the Effective Total Supply is available in the foundation reserve, 5% of the Effective Total Supply is available for liquidity purposes, and 20% of the Effective Total Supply is available for the Core Team. This remains true despite the fact that all tokens were minted at the genesis as technically required by the blockchain protocol.  Circulating Supply includes all Migrated Mining Rewards and all tokens that entered circulation from other buckets of the allocations, which at its maximum could be summed up to equal the Effective Total Supply.   Pi’s mining rewards are distributed based on an issuance formula that follows a declining exponential model defined in the Pi whitepaper. Users can increase the amount of mining rewards they receive based on their individual contributions to the network, like Security Circles, using utility-based Pi apps, running Nodes, etc. For each month, the amount of Pi to be distributed as mobile balance is capped and determined by the model, regardless of how many people or how many types of mining rewards there are during the month. The capping is achieved by the design of a system-wide base mining rate, and each type of mining rewards to each individual are just a multiplier of this base mining rate. As the monthly supplies always diminish, the base mining rate generally decreases over time.   Fewer Pi may also be issued because the real Pi issuance on the blockchain depends on Pioneers passing KYC and completing all steps required for migration to the Mainnet. Despite all efforts to facilitate and remind Pioneers to complete those required steps, there are always dropoffs along the way, resulting in less than all outstanding mobile balances to be issued on the blockchain. Because of this mechanism, the community issued amount (Migrated Mining Rewards) on the blockchain will likely be closer and closer to a line lower than the 65 billion. This is thus the reason for the variable Effective Total Supply which incorporates this effect. Effective Total Supply results from all Migrated Mining Rewards divided by 65%, as opposed to the Maximum Supply of 100 billion.  Ecosystem and Adoption Pi Network has built an integrated ecosystem that facilitates real-world transactions and decentralized applications. Pi can be used as a medium of exchange for goods and services, including online commerce and local brick-and-mortar businesses.  Users can engage with Core Team and community-built apps in the Pi ecosystem through the Pi Browser, where integrated features like the Pi Wallet provide a seamless experience. Workday Stock Snags Ratings Downgrade Ahead Of Next Week’s Q4 Report: Retail Stays Downbeat

Analyst Keith Weiss said he would be more constructive on the stock if growth stabilizes and accelerates back to the management’s 15% target.

Shares of Pleasanton, California-based Workday, Inc. (WDAY) rose by the mid-session on Wednesday after the company announced a restructuring program that includes a plan to eliminate 8.5% of its workforce.&nbsp;The enterprise platform provider that helps organizations manage money and manpower said the restructuring aims to prioritize its investments and continue its focus on durable growth.The company said it is cutting about 1,750 positions and expects to exit certain owned office space. However, it also clarified that it would continue to hire in key strategic areas and locations throughout the fiscal year 2025, which ends on Jan. 31, 2026. The planned actions will likely be completed by the second quarter of fiscal year 2026.Workday said it would incur about $230 million to $270 million in charges related to the plan, with $60 million to $70 million expected to be recognized in the fourth quarter.&nbsp;Additionally, the company expects to report fiscal year 2025 and fourth quarter results in line with or above the guidance provided in late November, except for the GAAP operating margin.&nbsp;Workday’s guidance calls for subscription revenue of $2.05 billion for the fourth quarter and $7.703 billion for the full year. Subscription revenue&nbsp;accounts for over 90% of the company’s total revenue.Due to the restructuring plan, the fourth-quarter GAAP operating margin is now expected to be 22-23&nbsp;percentage points lower than the non-GAAP operating margin. Workday Stock Rallies After Company Announces Workforce Reduction, Reaffirms Q4 Guidance: Retail’s Extremely Bullish

Workday said it plans to eliminate 8.5% of its workforce but clarified that it would continue hiring in key strategic areas and locations throughout the fiscal year 2025. 

Western Digital Corp. (WDC) shares climbed sharply early on Thursday after the storage devices solutions provider’s positive commentary about an impending spin-off managed to outweigh mixed quarterly results.The San Jose, California-based company reported fiscal 2025 second-quarter non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $1.77, slightly shy of the $1.78 per share consensus estimate, but marked a reversal from the $0.75 per share loss incurred in the year-ago quarter.Revenue climbed 41% year-over-year to $4.29 billion, exceeding the consensus estimate of $4.26 billion.Earlier this month, the&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/western-digital-stock-slips-after-storage-devices-company-preannounces-q2-earnings-shortfall/chGv8vsRnr">company&nbsp;offered a preview of the bottom-line results&nbsp;</a>at the low end of the guidance range of $1.75-$2.05, and revenue at the midpoint of the $4.20 billion to $4.40 billion guidance range.Western Digital said its cloud revenue climbed 119% YoY and 6% sequentially to $2.35 billion and client revenue rose 4% YoY but slipped 3% from the previous quarter to $1.17 billion. Western Digital Stock Rallies Despite Mixed Q2 Print: Retail Sentiment Flips To Bullish On Spin-Off Hopes

Seagate Technology Holdings (STX) stock rose sharply in Wednesday’s early trading after the data storage devices company announced an upbeat fiscal year 2025 second-quarter results.The Fremont, California-based company reported second-quarter non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $2.03, up from $0.12 a year ago. The bottom line results exceeded the consensus estimate of $1.88 per share.Revenue climbed nearly 50% year-over-year (YoY) to $2.33 billion from $1.56 billion, surpassing the $2.32 billion consensus estimate.&nbsp;Dave Mosley, CEO of Seagate, said, “Our results demonstrate structural improvements in the business and our focus on value capture in an improving demand environment, highlighted by decade-high gross margin performance exiting the December quarter.”The company said it began ramping up HAMR-based Mozaic products to its lead customer in the December quarter and that the latter is already sampling capacities up to 36 terabytes.&nbsp;Mosley said the company is in a great position to “deliver profitable growth” in fiscal year&nbsp;2025.Seagate generated $221 million in cash flow from operations during the second quarter and ended the quarter with a cash position of $1.2 billion.&nbsp;The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.72 per share, payable on April 2, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on March 19.Seagate&nbsp;projects third-quarter non-GAAP EPS at $1.70, plus or minus $0.20, and revenue at $2.1 billion. Analysts, on average, estimate the metrics to come in at $1.73 and $2.18 billion, respectively.Following the results, Baird analyst Tristan Gerra maintained an ‘Outperform’ rating and a $120 price target for Seagate stock. Seagate Stock Soars To 3-Month High On Q2 Beat: Retail Stays Bullish

Seagate Technology Holdings, Inc. (STX) stock experienced a pre-earnings rally on Tuesday after a Morgan Stanley analyst named the data storage devices company his top information technology (IT) pick, replacing tech giant Apple, Inc. (AAPL).Analyst Erik Woodring attributed his optimism to Seagate's high short interest, greater confidence in June quarter revenue recovery, and his above-consensus gross margin outlook.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/STX">Seagate stock</a> climbed 4.00% to $10158 ahead of the company’s fiscal year 2025 second-quarter results.On average, analysts expect the company to report non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $1.88 and revenue of $2.32 billion. This compares to the year-ago EPS and revenue of $0.12 and $1.55 billion, respectively.When the company released its first-quarter results in late October, it guided second-quarter headline metrics to $1.85, plus or minus $0.20, and $2.30 billion, plus or minus $150 million, respectively.&nbsp;Peer Western Digital Corp. (<a class="mention" data-mention="$WDC" data-symbol-id="WDC" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/WDC" target="_blank">$WDC</a>) preannounced a&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/western-digital-stock-slips-after-storage-devices-company-preannounces-q2-earnings-shortfall/chGv8vsRnr">potential second-quarter earnings shortfall&nbsp;</a>last week.&nbsp;Woodring said he is now increasingly comfortable with the persistence of the hard disk drive (HDD) cycle. He estimates second-quarter EPS and revenue of $1.89 and $2.3 billion, respectively., for Seagate.However, the analyst’s third-quarter expectations are muted. He lowered his EPS estimates to $1.65 and revenue to $2.1 billion, citing supply chain issues.To account for the estimate changes, the analyst trimmed the price target for Seagate stock to $129 from $133. San Jose, California-based Western Digital, a provider of data storage devices and solutions, preannounced its fiscal 2025 second-quarter results, sending its stock lower in Thursday’s after-hours session.In a filing with the SEC, Western Digital said it expects second-quarter revenue at the mid-point of the previous guidance range of $4.20 billion to $4.40 billion.&nbsp;The company preannounced quarterly non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) at the low end of the guidance of $1.75-$2.05. It blamed the anticipated softness on a challenging pricing environment for its flash business.Analysts, on average, expect the company to report non-GAAP EPS of $1.83 and revenue of $4.24 billion. This compares to the year-ago loss per share of $0.69 and revenue of $3.03 billion.Western Digital CEO David Goeckeler hinted at <a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/western-digital-ceo-warns-of-flash-pricing-headwinds/cJa9KXVRKb">flash price weakness </a>at a Barclays Technology conference in mid-December. The executive said NAND pricing challenges will likely persist into the March quarter.&nbsp;NAND is a type of flash memory used in devices such as smartphones, portable SSDs, internal SSDs, and memory cards.&nbsp;Western Digital is in the process of spinning off its hard disk drive (HDD) and flash businesses, creating two independently traded public companies.
