Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Kootenay Silver has spent nearly two decades applying that strategy in Mexico. 
The company began as a private venture focused on prospecting in the country before going public in 2005. Since then, Kootenay Silver has made four silver discoveries, building a portfolio of deposits across its Mexican projects. 
Collectively, those deposits contain more than 220 million  measured and indicated  Silver Equivalent ounces,  along with an additional 111 million Inferred Silver Equivalent ounces 
In recent years, the company’s exploration focus has shifted toward its Columba discovery, which management considers its flagship project. 
In May of last year, Kootenay Silver released a maiden resource estimate at Columba totaling approximately 54 million ounces of silver. 
The deposit stands out not only for its size but also for its grade. 
The resource carries an inferred grade of roughly 284 grams per tonne silver, placing it among higher-grade silver deposits within the exploration sector. 
The company is now running an active drilling campaign designed to expand the known mineralization.
