The car is available to order now in mainland Europe2, starting from €96,990, and customer deliveries are expected from Q4 2026.
  
Eletre X joins the Eletre range in delivering everything customers expect from a Lotus - dynamic, refined performance and deeply engaging driving - without asking them to compromise on range, practicality or long-distance capability.
  
X-Hybrid is Lotus’ new proprietary technology, blending battery electric vehicle (BEV) performance with internal combustion engine (ICE) support to deliver long-range flexibility and practicality; alongside sustained high performance and Lotus' trademark driver engagement. It plays a key role in Lotus’ Focus 2030 strategy, as part of its multi-power train approach built around the customer.

X-Hybrid – a new architecture. Electric first performance, with extended range capabilities
X-Hybrid is a technology like no other. At its core is a 11C high-discharge battery system supported with a 150kW onboard generator. Eletre X’s onboard generator, powered by a 2.0 litre Turbo engine, continuously replenishes available energy during driving. This delivers uninterrupted performance across extended journeys and demanding operating conditions, unlike most hybrid systems that rely on energy recovery alone.
  
The engine operates primarily as part of an intelligent onboard power generation system, replenishing available energy during longer journeys and sustained high-load driving.
  
That same system intelligently adapts energy deployment depending on speed, battery state of charge and driver demand, operating across multiple drive scenarios, balancing pure EV driving, onboard power generation and hybrid assistance to optimise performance, efficiency and real-world usability.
  
All of this, combined with a 900V architecture and a 52-litre fuel tank, results in a target combined WLTP range of more than 1,200 km and up to 350 km on electric power alone – delivering consistent performance, efficiency and long-term reliability. This means drivers never need to touch the engine for most daily driving, or rethink longer journeys around charging infrastructure.
  
Eletre X is one of the fastest charging electrified vehicles to come to market and supports 20–80% charging in approximately 9 minutes on a 350 kW DC charger – the time it takes to grab a coffee.
  
Uninterrupted performance, no matter the environment 
Eletre X is designed to deliver supercar performance, whilst ensuring the safety, efficiency and practicality of an SUV with:

Even at approximately 20% battery charge, around 550-kW of output remains available. From Nordic-winter readiness to Alpine descents, or a sustained Autobahn cruise, the battery management system ensures immediate readiness.
  
A true Lotus chassis, engineered for precision and control
With nearly 80 years of performance engineering to draw on, Eletre X applies the Lotus DNA throughout its chassis and aerodynamic systems, developed to deliver the world-class dynamics, handling and driver feel that customers expect from Lotus.
  
The vehicle’s body structure uses Lotus’ porosity philosophy — intelligently directing airflow through as well as around the vehicle to balance cooling, stability and drag. Active aerodynamic systems help to amplify efficiency with the active grille shutter and improve stability with an active rear spoiler capable of generating up to 120kg of downforce under braking.
  
Eletre X combines its new powertrain architecture with a series of advanced chassis technologies developed to preserve precision, composure and body control, despite full-size SUV proportions. This includes:

Dual-chamber air suspension
Dual-valve adaptive dampers capable of responding in as little as 2 milliseconds to changing road and load conditions

Lotus' commitment to obsessive engineering and lightweight principles has also cancelled out the weight of its new technologies through savings across the body frame, electric drive system and battery base plate, leaving Eletre X H550 up to 120kg lighter than the Eletre 900.

Every touchpoint inside the cabin has been designed to simplify and enhance how the car should feel and perform. Slim digital displays and a driver-focused Lotus Hyper OS infotainment system. (“Lotus Tech” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: LOT), a leading global intelligent and luxury mobility provider, today announced that Lotus introduces the Emira 420 Sport - the most powerful, lightest and most aerodynamically capable Emira ever built.
  
The Emira 420 Sport sits at the apex of the Emira line-up and has been designed specifically to deliver even more performance both on road, and on track. It reinforces Lotus commitment to preserving its DNA by delivering greater agility, response and driver engagement.
  
Emira 420 Sport produces 420PS from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, accelerates from 0–62mph in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 186mph.
  
With the optional Lightweight Handling Pack, the Emira 420 Sport is 25kg lighter than the Emira Turbo and generates 25kg of additional downforce. A series of aerodynamic revisions improve cooling and track performance without increasing drag.
  
Lotus is also introducing a removable tinted glass roof panel for the Emira, available now across the full model range.

More performance, reduced weight 
The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 420PS and 500Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission for faster acceleration and more immediate in-gear response.
  
The Lightweight Handling Pack delivers improved agility and responsiveness, and includes two-way adjustable Multimatic dampers, a titanium exhaust, a lithium-ion battery, carbon fibre components and a dedicated Lotus Track Performance app to measure and record your lap times.
  
Upgraded aerodynamic and cooling 
Exterior updates include a new front splitter, revised front vents, extended side sills, larger air intakes, a lip spoiler and a louvred tailgate. These changes result in airflow to the outboard radiators increasing by 15%, to the central radiator by 14%, and brake cooling improving by 10%, as well as exhaust valve airflow increasing by 30%. With these upgrades, drivers are able to experience more consistent performance in demanding conditions, particularly on track.
  
The updates also subtly reference Lotus’ design heritage, echoing cues seen on cars such as the Esprit Turbo.
  
Chassis and driver focus engagement  
The Emira 420 Sport builds on Lotus’ reputation for steering precision and chassis balance. A 5mm lower ride height, combined with revised suspension settings and high-performance tyres, enhances control and feedback.
  
The bonded aluminium chassis and double wishbone suspension deliver the blend of ride comfort and handling precision that defines the Emira, while electro-hydraulic power steering provides detailed feedback to the driver.
  
Inside, the cabin is designed to support both road and track driving, with 12-way adjustable seats, a driver-focused layout and intuitive controls. New carbon fibre gearshift paddles combine with updated haptics for added responsiveness and engagement.

Drivers now have a choice of nine-wheel designs and finishes including a new 20-inch 15-spoke forged alloy wheels finished in satin dark grey.
  
The colour palette is vibrant and extensive, with 16 choices to select from. Unique to the Emira 420 Sport is Tangelo Orange, a vivid and expressive colour that continues a long tradition of Lotus Orange paints.

The Carbon Fibre Pack changes the driver display surround with unique geometry; the centre spoke on the steering wheel and the logo surround in the seat back.

Exhilarating open-air driving from Lotus  
A removable tinted glass roof panel is available for the first time on the Emira. Multi-Powertrain Strategy, Built Around the Customer  
As regulatory and consumer landscapes continue to evolve globally at different speeds, Lotus will pursue an agile approach across ICE (internal combustion engine), PHEV (hybrid electric vehicle), and BEV (battery electric vehicle), targeting an approximately 60:40 mix between PHEV and BEV volume mix over its electrified portfolio in the interim, and a customer-led transition to full electrification.
  
Hybrid technology will play a central role, serving specific customer needs. First to come is X-Hybrid, a unique blend of ICE and BEV performance expertise that delivers long-range, flexibility, and practicality alongside sustained high performance and Lotus’ trademark driver engagement.
  
Lotus’ proprietary X-Hybrid technology was first launched on Eletre, as Eletre X (known as “For Me” in China). Customer deliveries have started in China, and early vehicle reception has been positive, with more than 1,000 orders placed in the first month alone. Customer deliveries in Europe are expected to begin in Q4 2026, making it the first of its kind to come to market.
  
Reaffirming the brand’s performance DNA, the next development of Lotus’ proprietary hybrid technology will be the unveiling of its first-ever supercar, Type 135 (also known as “Vision X”), planned for delivery in 2028. This will be an all-new car, featuring a V8 hybrid powertrain, with over 1000PS. It is expected to be manufactured in Europe, with further details to be announced later this year.
  
Emira continuity is confirmed, reflecting both Lotus’ commitment to manufacturing in the UK and sustained consumer demand for its combustion-engine sportscars. The company will reveal an update in the coming weeks, designed to be the most powerful and lightest Emira ever built.
  
Lotus’ BEV portfolio, Eletre (SUV), Emeya (GT), and Evija (Hypercar), remains a core pillar of the business, having brought new customers to the marque and broadened its commercial foundation. Lotus was an early adopter of 800V architecture through its electric SUV and GT offerings and remains committed to continued BEV innovation.
  
Built to Compete Globally  
Lotus’ close collaboration with its major shareholder, Geely Holding Group, is central to Focus 2030.
