Institutional adoption of the asset reached a major milestone in November 2025 when the SEC approved the first wave of spot XRP ETFs. These products, offered by major issuers including Bitwise, Grayscale, 21Shares, Canary Capital, and Franklin Templeton, are now listed on prominent exchanges like the NYSE Arca, Nasdaq, and Cboe BZX. While Ripple remains a key contributor to the ecosystem, the underlying XRP Ledger continues to operate as an open-source and decentralized network.

The platform hosts over $14 billion in DeFi applications with hundreds of thousands of active users across financial protocols, NFT marketplaces, and gaming platforms. Its transition to Proof of Stake in September 2022 reduced energy consumption by over 99%, addressing environmental concerns while strengthening network security.  The network operates through thousands of independent validator nodes that process transactions and execute smart contracts on the Ethereum Virtual Machine. Smart contracts are self-executing programs written in Solidity that automatically carry out agreements when conditions are met, eliminating intermediaries like banks or brokers.   Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. The asset is increasingly adopted by traditional institutions, with publicly traded companies adding ETH to corporate treasuries to generate staking yields while maintaining blockchain exposure, and in 2024, the SEC approved spot Ethereum ETFs, allowing traditional investors to gain exposure through conventional brokerage accounts.  Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

Users can choose between transparent public transactions and shielded private transactions through Unified Addresses, which work with both types. The network is faster and cheaper than Bitcoin, with new blocks mined every 75 seconds and transaction fees typically just a fraction of a cent. Privacy adoption has surged in 2025, with over 30% of total ZEC supply now held in fully shielded pools.  Zcash was created by a group of scientists in 2013 who initially proposed Zerocoin as a privacy extension to Bitcoin before building a standalone protocol. The ecosystem operates with a self-funded development model where block rewards support independent teams through the Zcash Community Grants Committee and a new Coinholder-Controlled Fund.

Indian equity markets are set for a firm opening on Friday, with the Gift Nifty, an early indicator for the Nifty 50 index, edging 0.14% higher to 25,257.5 at 8:25 a.m. IST.The markets&nbsp;ended higher on Thursday, marking a fifth gain in six sessions, led by buying in metals, IT, and pharmaceuticals stocks. Tech major TCS posted better-than-expected earnings for the September quarter post-market hours. It reported a net profit of ₹12,075 crore, while revenue from operations grew around 2% to ₹65,799 crore.Most Asian markets were down on Friday, with the exception of the bourses in Taiwan and South Korea.At the time of writing, the gold spot price fell below the key $4,000 mark for the first time in two sessions. It was down 1.76% at $3,976.69&nbsp;per ounce. Brent crude traded down 0.09% at $65.16&nbsp;per barrel.Stock WatchTata Consultancy Services (TCS): TCS reported an 8.4% year-on-year rise in Q2 profit to ₹12,904 crore, while revenue grew 2.4% to ₹65,799 crore. EBIT rose 7.1% to ₹16,565 crore with margins improving to 25.17%.The company also secured $10 billion in total contract value, acquired 100% of ListEngage, and announced plans to build a 1 GW data centre in India.Tata Elxsi: Q2 profit fell 32.5% to ₹154.8 crore as revenue slipped 3.9% to ₹918.1 crore.
