Clay-Hosted Discovery Delivers High-Grade Rare Earth Intercepts From Surface
The race to secure non-Chinese rare earth supply chains has intensified dramatically as Western nations confront the reality of near total dependence on adversarial processing infrastructure. While headlines focus on hard rock deposits requiring complex separation, a different class of rare earth mineralization is gaining attention: ionic adsorption clay deposits that offer simpler processing, lower environmental impact, and rapid paths to production. Companies demonstrating continuity of high-grade, clay-hosted mineralization from surface are suddenly finding themselves at the center of critical minerals conversations.

Shares of Verde AgriTech Ltd. (TSX: NPK) (OTCQX: VNPKF) are advancing Tuesday after the company reported assay results from the first three drill holes at its Minas Americas Global Alliance rare earths project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. All initial holes intersected continuous rare earth mineralization in weathered clays from surface, with results materially increasing confidence in expanding the broader mineralized footprint.

The standout intercept came from hole MAV_AD 002, which returned 14.2 metres from surface averaging 6,858 ppm TREO and 1,673 ppm MREO, including a higher-grade zone of 6.0 metres at 8,013 ppm TREO and 1,941 ppm MREO. The results demonstrate strong dysprosium content, with Dy₂O₃ reaching 86 ppm in the best intercepts, strengthening the project's magnet rare earth profile critical for electric vehicle motors and wind turbines.

Hole MAV_AD 001, drilled approximately 10 metres from previously reported trench PT-34, intersected 8.7 metres from surface averaging 5,776 ppm TREO and 1,388 ppm MREO, including 5.0 metres at 6,620 ppm TREO and 1,610 ppm MREO. The third hole, MAV_AD 003, returned 12.2 metres from surface averaging 2,563 ppm TREO and 484 ppm MREO, including 6.2 metres at 4,543 ppm TREO and 877 ppm MREO.

The drilling confirms depth continuity of high-grade mineralization below the PT-34 trench, which previously returned 8,615 ppm TREO at surface. The close spatial relationship and similar grade profiles between surface trenching and downhole results provide strong support for continuity of mineralization from surface to at least 8 to 10 metres depth, reinforcing resource expansion potential.

Verde CEO Cristiano Veloso emphasized that all initial holes intersected continuous mineralization from surface with strong contributions from high-value magnet rare earths including neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium. Combined with excellent desorbable rare earth response previously reported, the results materially increase confidence in advancing toward a maiden mineral resource estimate targeted for Q1 2026.

The company is currently running a 200-hole drill program utilizing three rigs, designed to provide sufficient drill density in priority zones to support the initial resource estimate. Verde's ability to advance the project rapidly is supported by in-house multidisciplinary teams, company-owned drill rigs, regional infrastructure already upgraded by the company, and execution experience having brought two mines into production in the same region.

Previous metallurgical testing confirmed ionic adsorption clay behavior, with mild leach tests returning up to 667 mg/kg desorbable rare earth oxides and approximately 278 mg/kg desorbable magnetic rare earth oxides. Impurities including thorium and uranium were at or below detection limits, yielding clean leachate well suited for downstream upgrading. The company is planning dedicated metallurgical test work to support a preliminary economic assessment targeted for Q2 2026.

Shares of NPK are up 10.9% to C$1.02 on the TSX in Tuesday afternoon trading, while VNPKF is ahead 6.8% to $0.74.

Copyright © 2025 AllPennyStocks.com.
