While earnings came in above estimates, investors were spooked by a $247-million charge related to Alani Nu’s distribution moving to the PepsiCo system, and concerns about future sales disruption. PepsiCo is a minority investor and the primary distributor for Celsius beverages.Still, Celsius stock is up over 66% year to date, beating Monster's 42%-plus gains.Although primarily due to acquisitions (Rockstar Energy in the U.S. and Canada from PepsiCo), Celsius’s YTD revenue growth is significantly higher than Monster’s. The company topped third-quarter results estimates last month, with record international sales.&nbsp;&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img style="aspect-ratio:1600/1133;" src="https://news.stocktwits-cdn.com/Celsius_And_Monster_Topline_Growth_jpg_06d2e617f8.webp" alt="Celsius_And_Monster_Topline_Growth.jpg" width="1600" height="1133"></figure>&nbsp;The company said Monster Energy Ultra, its sugar-free offering, along with new flavor launches, was a major hit with consumers, and it is planning to launch a new female-focused energy drinks brand, FLRT, next year.Monster is still in the early stages of its growth trajectory, RBC Capital Markets said in a recent note, citing strong execution and improved collaboration with Coca-Cola. In August, Coca-Cola took a 16.7% stake in Monster in a $2.15 billion deal, swapping its global energy business for Monster’s non-energy brands.The deal gives Monster "enhanced access to the Coca-Cola Company's distribution system, the most powerful and extensive system in the world. At the same time, we become The Coca-Cola Company's exclusive energy play," Monster chairman Rodney Sack said at the time.Meanwhile, Celsius is streamlining its portfolio and operations, with analysts saying the near-term focus is misplaced and that the long-term benefits of the PepsiCo partnership and the Alani Nu acquisition remain intact. The company announced a $300-million share buyback last month.“The thing about Celsius is that they have it everywhere now. Every gas station, grocery store, even sandwich shops are selling it. Monster Vs. Celsius: As Consumers Ditch Soda And Booze, Which Energy Drink’s Stock Is Winning?

With their unique strengths in a growing market, both Monster and Celsius have emerged as strong bets for investors.

<ul class="summary-bullets"><li>Earlier this week, the FDA raised its risk warning for certain varieties of shredded cheese, one of the most-consumed foods.</li><li>That comes in a year of frequent food recalls that have left consumers frustrated and feeling insecure.</li><li>Some users report avoiding packaged foods altogether.&nbsp;</li></ul>From radioactive shrimps to exploding wine bottles and bacteria-infested pasta, this year has not been the most appetizing. Now, the food regulator has raised the risk warning on certain cheese, one of the most consumed processed foods, leaving consumers scrabbling and cussing online.<h2 class="st-heading-2">The Cheese Crisis</h2>On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) updated the risk level on Great Lakes Cheese Co.’s shredded cheese, impacting more than 1.5 million bags sold across major chains like Target, Walmart, and Aldi, to Class II. That’s the FDA’s second-highest warning and conveys serious, although non-fatal, health risks.The agency is recalling the company’s various branded cheeses in as many as 31 states, with Google trends showing high searches for ‘cheese recall.’<h2 class="st-heading-2">Hardly The First Recall</h2>It's only the latest in a series of major recalls this year. In August, it was found that certain frozen shrimp varieties sold at Walmart might have had traces of radioactive elements – likely one of the most bizarre in years.&nbsp;Costco recently&nbsp;<a href="https://stocktwits.com/news-articles/markets/equity/costco-recall-panic-spikes-online-as-caesar-salad-warning-reerupts-heres-what-we-know/cL53f19REgp">recalled</a> some of its salad dressing for possible plastic contamination, and before that, its Kirkland Signature Prosecco Valdobbiadene wine (941,400 bottles in total) due to a potential risk of spontaneous bottle shattering.Of the more worrisome, Nate’s Fine Foods recalled large quantities of pre-cooked, ready-to-eat pasta in September and October after tests found contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium. The FDA&nbsp;<a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.fda.gov/safety/major-product-recalls/2025-recalls-prepared-pasta-meals-frozen-and-ready-eat-due-potential-listeria-monocytogenes?utm_source=chatgpt.com">confirmed</a> shortly after that at least 25 were hospitalized, and six died of Listeria monocytogenes infections.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Consumers Frusatrated</h2>Although there is no evidence that packed-food recalls have hurt sales at top retailers such as Walmart, Kroger, and Costco,&nbsp;online public sentiment is dipping.User posts show on X show widespread concern and frustration regarding the frequency of food recalls this year, creating a “trust crisis.” Users were also blaming the FDA and food companies for their oversight, while some said they would skip packaged food altogether for a while.It also led to what some call "recall fatigue," which involves consumers having to constantly check FDA recall notices, batch numbers, and expiration dates for the foods they buy."All of this lack of oversight of these food processing firms has led to the largest recall of food for adults and babies. The report, citing a statement from Grubhub, noted the claims in the lawsuit "have not been part of our business model for some time." According to the company, the lawsuit settlement will allow Grubhub to focus on its business operations.The report noted that the settlement applies to the period from early 2019 through April 2024. Cava Stock Nosedives After Sales Outlook Cut, Poised For Worst Day Ever — But Retail Traders Smell Opportunity

Subway is bringing in former Burger King executive Jonathan Fitzpatrick as its next chief executive, with a mandate to improve sales in the U.S. and help the company expand globally.&nbsp;He will take over on July 28, becoming the first CEO since private equity firm Roark Capital acquired the company for $9.6 billion last year. Fitzpatrick’s appointment comes as Subway works to reverse a years-long sales decline in the U.S. and expand its global presence.&nbsp;Fitzpatrick will succeed John Chidsey, who helped guide the chain through its sale. Chidsey was the former CEO of Burger King before taking over the helm at Subway in 2019.&nbsp;In a statement, Fitzpatrick said he plans to collaborate with franchisees and staff to boost profitability and grow the brand internationally.Fitzpatrick has over two decades of experience in the franchising and quick-service restaurant sectors. Before working at Burger King, he served as the President and CEO of Driven Brands, which saw 17 consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth.&nbsp;Subway said the Fitzpatrick will be closely with the Interim CEO, Carrie Walsh, to ensure a seamless transition.&nbsp;For the first time in around two decades, the company’s U.S. store count fell below 20,000 at the end of 2024 – a net loss of 631 stores from the previous year. At its peak, the restaurant chain had around 27,000 locations open across the U.S. in 2015.The U.S. stock market was trending in the green during midday trade on Monday.
