Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. Ethereum's roadmap focuses on dramatically increasing transaction capacity to over 100,000 per second, reducing confirmation times, and enhancing decentralization while maintaining security against future threats like quantum computing.

The one-year change in the follower count for the stock on Stocktwits is 141%. Since the company stated that the unnamed partner is a leader in the military and government sectors, retail watchers played a guessing game, throwing up names such as Lockheed Martin and Palantir.Another watcher <a href="https://stocktwits.com/Stocks1234567891011/message/640369151">said</a> the Innodata story is only beginning.&nbsp;According to Koyfin, the average analyst price target for Innodata is $93.75, implying roughly 80% upside from current levels. All four analysts covering the stock have either a ‘Buy’ or ‘Strong Buy’ rating.In an October note, Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives named Innodata as among the top candidates that are likely to be acquired this year.&nbsp;<h2 class="st-heading-2">How INOD Stock Performed This Year</h2>Innodata did not partake substantially in the strong AI rally seen on either side of the across-the-board April tariff sell-off. The year’s move can be characterized as broadly sideways, interspersed with small rallies and pullbacks. Following the release of Innodata’s second-quarter results in late July, the stock picked up some upward momentum. The uptrend lasted for a month, until early October, when the stock began to retrace the move.&nbsp;&nbsp;The stock is currently well-supported by its 200-day simple moving average (SMA) ($51.30) on a one-year chart. Chinese search engine and artificial intelligence (AI) company Baidu, Inc. (<a class="mention" data-mention="$BIDU" data-symbol-id="BIDU" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/BIDU" target="_blank">$BIDU</a>) reported sub-par third-quarter earnings amid weakness in its core online marketing business.Beijing, China-based Baidu reported third-quarter non-GAAP earnings per ADS of 16.60 yuan or $2.37, marking a 19% year-on-year (YoY) decline and a 21% sequential drop. Analysts, on average, estimated 17.90 yuan per ADS for the quarter, according to Yahoo Finance.Total revenue slipped 3% YoY and 1% sequentially to 33.56 billion yuan or $4.78 billion, slightly ahead of the 33.43-billion-yuan consensus estimate polled by LSEG, according to Reuters.Baidu Core revenue was flat YoY to 26.5 billion yuan, with online marketing revenue slipping 4% to 18.8 billion yuan. Luminar Technologies, Inc. ($LAZR) shares rallied in premarket trading on Tuesday after the lidar maker reported a double miss for the third quarter and guided to sequential revenue growth for the fourth quarter.&nbsp;Speaking on the earnings call, CFO Thomas Fennimore weighed in on any potential impact from the just concluded 2024 presidential election.&nbsp;Responding to an analyst’s question on whether the election result and the incoming administration’s electric-vehicle policies would have any implications for the company, Fennimore said the management continues to monitor the geopolitical events and how those can impact its business.In the election held on Nov. 5, Republican Party’s Donald Trump emerged victorious, with the party gaining a majority in the Senate and inching toward taking control of the House too.Trump’s proposed policy measures are seen as largely anti-EV and clean energy, with the former president pledging to remove tax subsidies for green-energy companies.&nbsp;Luminar’s CFO said, “With regards to the election, look, I think it's too early for us to tell.”&nbsp;“We continually monitor geopolitical events and how that can impact our business,” he said.That said, the executive wasn’t losing sleep over the post-election dynamics. He said Luminar Tech is focused on executing its business plan, and developing and producing the best lidar in the industry.“We do that, we're going to be fine, no matter what happens in the geopolitical realm,” the CFO said.Orlando, Florida-based Luminar Tech reported a third-quarter non-GAAP loss per share of $0.16, narrower than the year-ago loss of $0.21 per share but wider than the consensus of $0.15 per share.Revenue fell year-over-year from $16.96 million to $15.49 million&nbsp;and missed the consensus estimate of $17.7 million.&nbsp;The company said it expects fourth-quarter revenue to grow moderately from the third quarter and the gross loss to improve significantly.Luminar Tech announced expanded partnerships with two global original-equipment manufacturers - an unnamed major Japanese automaker and Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd.
