Validators stake ETH as collateral to propose and validate blocks, earning rewards for honest participation while facing penalties for malicious behavior. The EIP-1559 upgrade introduced a dynamic base fee mechanism that burns ETH with each transaction, creating deflationary pressure during high network activity when more ETH is burned than issued to validators.  Vitalik Buterin proposed Ethereum in 2013, but seven co-founders helped build it, including Gavin Wood who created Solidity and the EVM technical specification, and Joseph Lubin who founded ConsenSys. The project launched in July 2015 after raising over $18 million through crowdfunding, quickly becoming the largest blockchain developer community. Major milestones include the 2020 Beacon Chain launch, the 2021 London hard fork implementing fee burning, and the 2022 Merge to Proof of Stake.   Ether (ETH) serves multiple functions: paying transaction fees (gas), staking to secure the network and earn 3-5% annual yields, serving as collateral in DeFi protocols, and purchasing NFTs and digital assets. Hershey Joins US Food Giants In Pledge To Phase Out Synthetic Dyes

Retail investors welcomed a key rating upgrade for Walt Disney (DIS), underscoring gains from the media giant's recent efforts to streamline its business.Jefferies upgraded Disney's stock&nbsp;to 'Buy' from 'Hold' and also bumped its price target handsomely to $144 from $100. The current target indicates a 16% upside from current levels.<a href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/DIS">Disney's shares</a> rose 1.4% on Monday, marking the sixth straight day of gains.Jefferies noted that it sees improvement in several of the company's business lines. The New York Times Company (NYT) and Amazon.com Inc.(AMZN) have entered into a long-term licensing arrangement that will integrate journalism from the Times into a variety of Amazon services.The deal expands on the two entities’ current partnership, aiming to enrich the user experience for Amazon’s global audience and extend the reach of The Times’ journalism.Through this arrangement, Amazon will receive licensed access to a range of editorial content from The New York Times, including well-known brands like NYT Cooking and The Athletic, for use within its artificial intelligence products.&nbsp;The deal covers the integration of condensed news summaries and content snippets into Amazon services such as Alexa, as well as using the material to support the training of Amazon’s in-house language models.&nbsp;The move is part of a larger trend among tech giants seeking high-integrity, reliable content to power their AI systems.Neither company disclosed financial details of the deal, but it marks a significant step in how media organizations are partnering with technology firms to adapt to AI-driven platforms.&nbsp;For the Times, the licensing deal offers a new revenue stream while preserving its editorial integrity.
