The digital coins are issued by a company called Tether Limited that is governed by the laws of the British Virgin Islands, according to the legal part of its website. It is incorporated in Hong Kong. It has emerged that Jan Ludovicus van der Velde is the CEO of cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex, which has been accused of being involved in the price manipulation of bitcoin, as well as tether. Many people trading on exchanges, including Bitfinex, will use tether to buy other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin. Tether Limited argues that using this method to buy virtual currencies allows users to move fiat in and out of an exchange more quickly and cheaply. Also, exchanges typically have rocky relationships with banks, and using Tether is a way to circumvent that.  USDT is fairly simple to use. Once on exchanges like Poloniex or Bittrex, it can be used to purchase Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It can be easily transferred from an exchange to any Omni Layer enabled wallet. Tether has no transaction fees, although external wallets and exchanges may charge one. In order to convert USDT to USD and vise versa through the Tether.to Platform, users must pay a small fee. Buying and selling Tether for Bitcoin can be done through a variety of exchanges like the ones mentioned previously or through the Tether.to platform, which also allows the conversion between USD to and from your bank account.

Atkins said the idea merits a fresh look, noting that CEOs and investors have long complained that quarterly filings divert management’s attention from long-term strategy.The SEC chair emphasized that any change would still&nbsp;provide investors with protection. Companies would&nbsp;still be required to file 8-Ks for material events, and debt holders or banks could demand interim updates through other channels. “Investors are the boss,” Atkins said, adding that market forces could ultimately determine the cadence of disclosure.He added that the SEC will study the proposal and weigh whether semiannual reporting can strike a balance between investor transparency and corporate flexibility. “It’s a good time to look at the whole panoply of how people get information,” he said.U.S. equities were in the green during morning trade on Friday. Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis President Neel Kashkari said on Friday that he supports the September interest rate cut and expects two additional cuts in 2025.In an essay published on Friday,&nbsp;Kashkari highlighted a “sharp increase” in risks to unemployment, which warrants action from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) to support the labor market.Kashkari had expected two rate cuts from the Fed in 2025 even before the September FOMC meeting.&nbsp;Following the 25 bps cut in September, he still expects two additional cuts this year, when the FOMC meets in October and December.&nbsp;However, he said the Fed should not preset its course of action now that it has cut the benchmark rate on Wednesday.“I do not believe we should be on a preset course for a series of rate cuts. Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio reportedly warned on Friday that the United States’ inability to cut back on spending and prevent the piling of debt is putting the monetary order at risk.According to a Bloomberg News <a class="st-link-external" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-09-19/ray-dalio-says-us-monetary-order-is-at-risk-as-debt-mounts">report</a>, Dalio noted that the U.S. will spend about $7 trillion this year and earn only $5 trillion. Due to interest payments and roll-over of maturing borrowings, “this means you have to sell $12 trillion in debt,” he reportedly said, without giving a timeframe, during the FutureChina Global Forum in Singapore.“The market in the world does not have that same sort of demand for that debt, and that creates a supply-demand imbalance,” he noted and attributed the credit to “human nature.”U.S. federal debt stands at over $37.49 trillion, and is expected to rise even further due to President Donald Trump’s signature tax and spending bill, which was signed into law in July. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the U.S. law will add over $3.4 trillion to the national debt.
