$TNK $NAT $FRO lets put the daily rates into context for people. The highest daily rate charter for a Suezmax in 2025 was a one time charter of $95,000 /day. The highest aframax charter was $55,000 /day. Those were the spikes. Not the average. The average was around $40K per day for suezmax and $35K for Aframax. A suezmax today is going for $550K per day..on the cheapest route...A one year charter is $135K per year. An Aframax is going for just over 300K on the cheapest route in spot market today...with a 1 year charter going for $70-79K per day. These operators will profitable last year. They are obscenely profitable this year. And more important they can lock in time charters 2-3 times the rate of 2025.

$TNK $NAT $FRO with the Iranian attacks continuing in the middle east and the US potentially counterstriking, it becomes a numbers game on how fast the damaged ships can be returned to service or replaced by new builds. If we add the ships lost to these hostilities and the damage done by Ukraine there has been an absolutely staggering amount of capability taken out of the market. So, we are at an inflection point where each additional tanker damaged is taken out of service for months because repair facilities are full of already damaged ships. So even relatively minor damage is taking months to fix because the damaged ships are awaiting for a dry dock to open, another tanker to offload them, or simply waiting for someone to come up with cash to pay for the repair.

$TNK UKMTO has received a report of an incident in the Strait of Hormuz. A Company Security Officer has informed UKMTO that their tanker has been struck by an unknown projectile whilst completing an outbound transit of the Strait of Hormuz.
