Ripple is the catchall name for the cryptocurrency platform, the transactional protocol for which is actually XRP, in the same fashion as Ethereum is the name for the platform that facilitates trades in Ether. That facilitates transactions all over the world, and transfer fees are far cheaper than the likes of bitcoin. Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP transfers are effectively immediate, requiring no typical confirmation time.  Ripple was originally founded by a single company, Ripple Labs, and continues to be backed by it, rather than the larger network of developers that continue bitcoin’s development. It also doesn’t have a fluctuating amount of its currency in existence. Where bitcoin has a continually growing pool with an eventual maximum, and Ethereum theoretically has no limit, Ripple was created with all of its 100 billion XRP tokens right out of the gate. That number is maintained with no mining and most of the tokens are owned and held by Ripple Labs itself — around 60 billion at the latest count.  Even at the recently reduced value of around half a dollar per XRP, that means Ripple Labs is currently sitting on around $20 billion worth of the cryptocurrency (note: Ripple’s price crashed hard recently, and may be worth far less than $60 billion by time you read this). It holds 55 billion XRP in an escrow account, which allows it to sell up to a billion per month if it so chooses in order to fund new projects and acquisitions. Selling such an amount would likely have a drastic effect on the cryptocurrency’s value, and isn’t something Ripple Labs plans to do anytime soon.  In actuality, Ripple Labs is looking to leverage the technology behind XRP to allow for faster banking transactions around the world. While Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are built on the idea of separating financial transactions from the financial organizations of traditional currencies, Ripple is almost the opposite in every sense. The year-over-year (YoY) growth of 2.9% decelerated from the 3.3% growth in the preceding quarter.The bottom line exceeded the Fnchat-compiled consensus estimates of $1.34, while the revenue was in line. (ZM) confirmed that its services have been restored after an earlier outage that impacted several users.In a post on its X handle, the company reported the outage at around 4:30 p.m. ET, adding that a restore was underway. Shortly after, the company confirmed that its services were back to normal.A&nbsp;<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://downdetector.in/status/zoom/">report&nbsp;</a>from Downdetector, a platform that monitors and reports outages with online services, showed that the outage began around 2:30 p.m. ET and lasted through 6 p.m. ET, with stray reports trickling in even after that.&nbsp;At the outage’s peak, more than 67,000 users reported issues, according to the platform.Replying to Zoom Communications’ post about the outage and the subsequent restoration, one social-media user blamed the company for reporting it two hours into the outage.Another user contended that the outage was a global outage affecting all users and not "some" as suggested by the company.&nbsp;But another empathized with the company. “Outages happen - even google's historic outage in 2000 was just 3 minutes long! we'll get through this too,” they said.On Wednesday, Zoom Communications stock fell 1.66%, not worse as the tech-weighted Nasdaq Composite’s 3%+ slump. Zoom Communications Services Back Online After 3-Hour-Long Global Outage: Retail Sentiment Takes A Hit

(ZM) shares pulled back sharply in Tuesday’s premarket trading after the video conferencing app provider announced fiscal year 2025 fourth-quarter results that exceeded expectations. However, key user metrics remained soft, and the forward guidance was lackluster.The San Jose, California-based company reported fourth-quarter&nbsp;(Q4) adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $1.41, compared to $1.42 a year ago and the consensus of $1.30. The bottom line also bettered the guidance range of $1.29-$1.30.Revenue climbed 3.3% year over year (YoY) to $1.18 billion,&nbsp;above the $1.17 billion consensus and&nbsp;in line with the $1.175 billion to $1.180 billion guidance.The nearly 6% growth in enterprise revenue ($706.8 million) helped offset the 0.4% drop in online revenue.Zoom founder and CEO Eric Yuan said, “In FY25, Zoom [artificial intelligence] AI Companion emerged as the driving force behind our transformation into an AI-first company, enabling our customers to discover enhanced productivity opportunities.”He noted that the annual reported operating margin expanded by a robust 5.8 points, thanks to the focus on prioritizing investments and controlling share-based compensation.&nbsp;Operating cash flow for the year climbed nearly 22% to $2 billion, translating to an operating cash flow margin of 41.7%.Among user metrics, Zoom Video ended the quarter with 192,600 enterprise customers, up slightly from 192,400 in the previous quarter. The trailing 12-month net dollar expansion rate for enterprise customers was steady at 98% versus the third quarter.The number of customers contributing revenue of more than $100,000 in the trailing 12 months was 4,088, up from 3,995 in the third quarter.The online average monthly churn fell 20 basis points YoY &nbsp;to 2.8%.Zoom Video expects first-quarter adjusted EPS of $1.29 to $1.31 and revenue of $1.162 billion to $1.167 billion.&nbsp;Analysts, on average, expect earnings of $1.31 on a revenue of $1.17 billion.The company has projected fiscal year 2026 adjusted EPS of $5.34 to $5.37 and a revenue of $4.785 billion to $4.795 billion. Zoom Video Stock Headed Toward One-Month Low As Lackluster Guidance Takes Sheen Off Q4 Beat: Retail Mood Mixed

(<a class="mention" data-mention="$ZM" data-symbol-id="ZM" href="https://stocktwits.com/symbol/ZM" target="_blank">$ZM</a>) shares tumbled over 7% in Tuesday’s premarket trading despite a very solid quarterly report but retail sentiment turned buoyant.The San Jose, California-based company known for its videoconferencing app reported fiscal-year 2025 third-quarter non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $1.38, ahead of the consensus estimate of $1.31 and the year-ago’s $1.29.Quarterly revenue climbed 3.6% year-over-year (YoY) to $1.18 billion versus the $1.16-billion consensus estimate.The results also bettered Zoom Video’s guidance for $1.29-$1.31 in non-GAAP EPS and&nbsp; $1.16 billion-$1.165 billion in revenue.Non-GAAP operating margin came in at 38.9%.The company ended the quarter with $7.7 billion in cash.&nbsp;Among the customer metrics, customers contributing more than $100,000 in trailing 12-month revenue rose 7.1% YoY to 3,995. Analysts, on average, expect the metrics to come in at $1.17 billion and $1.29, respectively.The company raised its fiscal year 2025 revenue from $4.63 billion-$4.64 billion to $4.656 billion-$4.661 billion, and non-GAAP EPS outlook from $5.29-$5.32 to $5.41-$5.43.The consensus estimates call for revenue of $4.65 billion and non-GAAP EPS of $4.38.Traders on Wall Street apparently did not take kindly to the modest growth the company projected.In premarket trading as of 6:23 am ET, Zoom Video stock fell 7.02% to $82.78.
