The transaction is expected to close on or about May 4, 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Exclusive License Adds To Pipeline</h2>Cue Biopharma further announced it has obtained an exclusive license from Ascendant Health Sciences for Ascendant-221, an experimental drug designed to treat certain allergic diseases. But I don’t know,” Zuckerberg reportedly told employees about the stock’s drop on Thursday while adding that he still sees a very strong trajectory for Meta’s businesses.Meta raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast to between $125 billion and $145 billion, up from the previous range of $115 billion to $135 billion, on Wednesday. Meta CFO Susan Li said the higher spending is driven in part by rising memory prices and additional data-center costs needed to support future capacity requirements.Zuckerberg also highlighted challenges to the company's ad business in light of current geopolitical turmoil and highlighted that customers are less likely to purchase discretionary items when they are spending more on gas.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Layoffs And Team Reduction Efforts</h2>Meta is looking to absorb some of its added CapEx costs by layoffs, including a 10% layoff planned for May. Investing more in compute and infrastructure means the company has less to allocate to its employees, the CEO said. “So that means that we do need to take down the size of the company somewhat,” Zuckerberg reportedly said.He also said that the company will reduce the size of teams where AI can allow for greater speed and efficiency. However, a reduction in team size does not necessarily mean layoffs; affected employees will be reassigned to new projects, including building more apps.“Historically, we’ve built like four or five big apps. Meta CEO Links Stock Drop To Higher Capex, Plans Team Cuts And More Apps: Report

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Zuckerberg pinned the roughly 9% drop in share price on Thursday to the company’s raised capex guidance for 2026.

(AXSM) closed 13% higher on Thursday, marking its best day in about four months, after the company announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved its drug Auvelity for the treatment of agitation associated with dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease.Auvelity was previously awarded the FDA Breakthrough Therapy designation for Alzheimer’s disease agitation and also priority review.Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia, affecting more than 7 million Americans. According to Axsome estimates, agitation is reported in 74% of Alzheimer’s patients with symptoms ranging from pacing or restlessness to verbal and physical aggression.<h2 class="st-heading-2">Clinical Data For Auvelity</h2>The FDA approval is based on data from two late-stage studies. In one of the late-stage studies, Auvelity was statistically superior to placebo in improving agitation symptoms, Axsome said. In the other trial, the patients who continued treatment with Auvelity experienced a statistically significantly longer time to relapse of agitation symptoms.Auvelity is already approved for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults. The drug has already been administered to more than 300,000 patients in clinical and real-world settings, Axsome said. The company is also studying the drug for smoking cessation.Analysts Weigh In On AXSMMorgan Stanley raised the firm's price target on Axsome Therapeutics to $217 from $207 and kept an ‘Equal Weight’ rating on the shares following Axsome announcing the on-time approval of Auvelity for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease Agitation.TD Cowen, meanwhile, noted that the label is "clean" with no black box warning for increased risk of death in elderly patients with dementia, differentiating it from the only other approved therapy for ADA, Otsuka’s Rexulti. The firm estimates a peak opportunity of $1 billion in ADA, though it adds "this may be conservative given surveys." On average, listed Model X vehicles spent just 25.6 days on the market — roughly 0.4 times the overall market average of 58.8 days and far faster than the 60.1 days required for non-Tesla EVs.Three of the top 10 fastest-selling models were Teslas, highlighting the brand’s outsized pull among used-car shoppers. While Tesla Cybertruck occupied the 7th position on the list, the Model Y is the 9th fastest-selling used car, the study noted.Tesla EVs maintained a flat 1.3% share of the 1- to 5-year-old used market in Q1 2026, even as non-Tesla EV share climbed to 2.4%. Average listing prices for Tesla EVs were essentially unchanged year-over-year, dipping a negligible 0.1% to $31,458.
