What is Chromia? Chromia is an open source public blockchain conceived of by Swedish company Chromaway AB. The Chroma token (CHR) was launched in May of 2019. The technology behind the Chromia blockchain is adapted from an earlier technology called ‘Postchain’, a solution provided by Chromaway AB for enterprise clients.&nbsp;  How does Chromia work? Chromia is a standalone Layer-1 blockchain and EVM compatible Layer-2 enhancement for Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum. It is designed to enhance existing dApps and allow for the creation of next-generation dApps by providing scalability, improved data handling, and customizable fee structures. The blockchain uses a unique architecture called relational blockchain, as well as a custom programming language called Rell.  Rell is designed to code and function very similarly to SQL, allowing developers to leverage the security and immutability of blockchain while storing and handling data with the efficiency of a relational database.&nbsp; Each dApp running on Chromia operates on its own sidechain which is rooted in the main blockchain. This allows each application to scale more efficiently and gives each application developer the freedom to choose from a variety of fee structures. For example, one application may require users to pay transaction fees in CHR (similar to how Ethereum or Bitcoin work), while another application could stake enough CHR to reserve computational power and allow their users to make unlimited transactions without paying any fees at all.&nbsp;  What applications have been built on Chromia? Chromia already has a wide variety of applications building upon their blockchain, using their chain as a decentralized storage layer, and using their Layer-2 enhancements. These applications range from DeFi options trading platform Hedget, to open world farming game My Neighbor Alice, to government land registry initiative LAC PropertyChain.&nbsp; One of the latest features in development is a new NFT standard called Chromia Originals, which will operate both as a native standard on Chromia’s chain as well as an enhancement layer for existing ERC-721 and BEP-721 tokens. Work on these Layer-2 enhancements are being developed in cooperation with My Neighbor Alice.  Who is behind Chromia? Chromia’s core team consists of industry veterans Or Perelman, Henrik Hjelte and Alex Mizrahi. All three have deep roots in the crypto space, going back to the early days of Bitcoin and Ethereum. For example, Alex published several early academic papers on Proof of Stake consensus and was also one of the key figures behind Colored Coins, one of the first projects to develop the idea of ‘tokens’ that would later be brought to prominence by Ethereum.  In summary, Chromia is a Layer-1 and Layer-2 blockchain solution under active development, with the goal of delivering enhanced features and data handling and storage capabilities to decentralized applications.

Small caps staged a comeback in Q3, with ETFs like FESM, RZV, FYX, VTWV, JSML, IWO topping gains. While there are certain tariff risks, the Fed's rate cut potential is a plus. 

An analyst preferred to remain on the sidelines of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (AMC) as the risk-reward ratio remained balanced.&nbsp;Texas Capital analyst Eric Wold initiated coverage of AMC with a ‘Hold’ rating and a $3 price target, implying over 12% downside from current levels.&nbsp;Wold said the movie-theater chain, helmed by CEO Adam Aron, is well-positioned to benefit from improving theatrical attendance and box office revenues in 2025 and 2026.Earlier this week, AMC announced a record Memorial Day holiday weekend performance in terms of both admissions and food and beverage revenue, driven&nbsp;by the release of big-ticket films such as Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning” and Disney’s live-action “Lilo &amp; Stitch”.Aron commented on the performance: “Finally, it would appear that our industry has turned a corner.”“A record-setting Memorial Day holiday is yet another sign of the continued strength and relevance of moviegoing in 2025.”The executive also sounded upbeat about the outlook. “With many more potentially huge movies coming in June all the way through the end of 2025, and beyond that deeply into 2026 as well, we firmly expect to be enjoying a robust theatrical box office as we look ahead,” he said.Texas Capital’s caution stems from concerns about AMC’s debt levels.The firm’s analysts see cash flow headwinds due to the company’s elevated debt and major maturities scheduled for the coming years. (AMC) announced discounted ticket pricing on Monday for its Stubs members as the struggling movie theater chain strives to capitalize on the recent resurgence in theater footfall.&nbsp;The Leawood, Kansas-based movie theater chain's new pricing initiative, dubbed '50% off Wednesdays,' will allow its Stubs members to watch the latest releases on the big screen&nbsp;at half the normal adult-evening ticket price each Wednesday.The select discounted pricing scheme will be in effect in the U.S. beginning on July 9. AMC clarified that premium charges for Imax, Dolby Cinema, and other premium large-format (PLF) screens, and online ticketing fees will still apply, and the discount will be on the base ticket price.The latest offer comes on top of the significant discounts for AMC Stubs members on Tuesdays.The Stubs membership is available to moviegoers in four tiers: "Insider," which is a free tier, "Premiere GO," "Premiere," and "A-List."AMC said, "While certain movies and holiday time periods may be excluded from the "50% Off Wednesdays" program, it is envisioned that if successful, this new AMC pricing initiative will be almost universally available at all AMC Theatres in the United States going forward."CEO Adam Aron said the decision to proceed with the new program was made due to the box office boom in April and May, adding that the remainder of 2025 appears poised to continue the upward trend.AMC reported a dip in its first-quarter revenue and a wider loss last week. However, the firm believes the company needs to do more financial engineering. Due to a healthy box office recovery, it expects further improvements in the coming two years.&nbsp;Roth MKM sees AMC’s free cash flow continuing to remain negative in 2025, potentially necessitating additional equity raises.&nbsp;Cinemark’s report released last week showed that the company reversed to a profit in the fourth quarter, but the earnings per share (EPS) missed the consensus estimate. Revenue climbed 27.5% year over year (YoY) to $814.3 million.&nbsp;Sean Gamble, the CEO of the Plano, Texas-based theater chain, attributed the strong topline performance to better-than-expected industry performance.&nbsp;Cinemark also reinstated its annual cash dividend, which it suspended in 2020.The optimism toward AMC is due to its meme stock potential and the retail buzz. AMC Vs. Cinemark: Retail Picks Potential Winner Among Movie Theater Chain Stocks

AMC and Cinemark reported record revenues for the fourth quarter, fueled by moviegoers’ return to theaters in droves.

Movie theater chain AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (AMC) is scheduled to release its fiscal year 2024 fourth-quarter results after the&nbsp;closing bell on TuesdayThe Finchat-compiled consensus estimate calls for a narrower loss of $0.16 per share and revenue of $1.30 billion, compared to the year-ago loss of $0.54 per share and revenue of $1.10 billion.The estimated year-over-year revenue (YoY) growth of 17.3% marks an acceleration from the third quarter’s 11.5% growth.Last week, rival Cinemark Holdings, Inc. (CNK) reported record fourth-quarter revenue and a return to profit, citing better-than-expected industry performance. It also reinstated its annual cash dividend, which was suspended in April 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the bottom-line miss spooked investors, sending its shares lower.Earlier this month, Roth MKM&nbsp; analyst Eric Handler upgraded AMC stock to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Sell’ but trimmed the price target to $3.25 from $4. The analyst said AMC shares could be at or near their bottom due to several positive events.&nbsp;Handler noted that the box office was entering a two-year content cycle.
