The cryptocurrency then took off with the innovation of the turing-complete smart contract by Ethereum which led to the development of other amazing projects such as EOS, Tron, and even crypto-collectibles such as CryptoKitties.

That translates to around $132 per shopper. Retailers are expected to eat the remaining $12 billion in extra costs.Retailers and other businesses have faced sharp price increases across a wide range of products in recent months, as import and transportation costs climbed under President Donald Trump’s trade tariffs.&nbsp;While some companies initially rushed to import goods before the duties took effect, most products now on shelves — or en route — come with a tariff-driven markup. Those mark-ups will stress consumer budgets as they step out to shop for the holidays.&nbsp;“While it may not be earth-shattering, it can have a real impact on many families. It could prompt people to cut back on gift-giving this year or lead to them taking on extra debt,” Matt Schulz, LendingTree’s chief consumer finance analyst, was quoted as saying in the CNBC report.LendingTree projected that holiday shoppers purchasing electronics will bear the steepest impact from tariffs, facing an average additional expense of $186 per person.The next-largest increase is expected in clothing and accessories, with an added cost of around $82 per shopper. The company, however, lowered its organic sales growth forecast to a 1% to 2% range from its earlier target of 2% to 4%, with management flagging demand weakness, partly offset by price increases.Shares rose 0.7% on Friday, following the results, although they traded near a 52-week low. Retail prices are expected to rise as companies juggle higher costs and shrinking profit margins.

Nestle SA, one of the world's largest consumer packaged food companies, said it plans to cut 16,000 roles, or about 5.8% of its current global workforce, as it increases its cost-saving target over the next two years.The cuts will impact about 12,000 white-collar professionals across functions and geographies, and an additional 4,000 positions will be eliminated through productivity initiatives in manufacturing and supply chain.The move will generate annual cost savings of 1 billion Swiss francs (approximately $1.25 billion) by the end of 2027. The company now aims for 3 billion Swiss francs in yearly savings, up from 2.5 billion Swiss francs earlier."We have been stepping up investment... and the results are starting to come through.
