White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Thursday that President Donald Trump is set to send out letters to 17 pharmaceutical company CEOs in the U.S., including Eli Lilly (LLY), giving them 60 days to address the global pricing disparity of drugs.“Other nations have been free-loading on U.S. innovation for far too long, and it is time they pay their fair share,” said Leavitt, reading out one of the letters, addressed to Eli Lilly CEO David A. Ricks.<a href="http://stocktwits.com/symbol/LLY">Eli Lilly’s stock</a> dipped more than 1% in afternoon trade after the news broke. On Stocktwits, retail sentiment around the pharmaceutical giant remained in ‘bullish’ territory over the past day.Other pharma stocks also took a hit. Investing.com -- Pharmaceutical stocks saw brief relief Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump left drug products off the list of newly announced tariffs. However, industry leaders and analysts cautioned that the sector is not in the clear, as targeted levies may still be on the horizon.

Shares of Xeris Biopharma Inc. surged more than 9.5% on Thursday, reaching their highest level since June 2021, driven by a better-than-expected revenue forecast for 2025 that fueled investor optimism.&nbsp;The rally came despite a slightly wider-than-expected quarterly loss, with retail sentiment increasingly bullish following the earnings release.Xeris reported an adjusted fourth-quarter loss of $0.03 per share, narrowly missing Wall Street expectations of a $0.02 loss.&nbsp;However, revenue for the period was $60.01 million, exceeding the consensus estimate of $58.54 million.&nbsp;The company's full-year guidance emerged as the key driver of market enthusiasm.
